He is objectively one of the people who has failed this moment.

[–] TropicalDingdong@lemmy.world 72 points 1 week ago (1 children)

At least he's calling for himself to be replaced.

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 5 points 1 week ago

Me out now! Me out now! Me out now!

He's either kicking himself out of office, or demanding his own sexual liberation.

I can only imagine the thought in his head is:

If I say this first, and loudest, it therefore cannot apply to me, because I called it out.

Fucking terminal shitlib brain; everything is optics, history doesn't exist beyond when I want to A/B test some rhetoric.

[–] Archer@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (2 children)

The worst part is, it’ll probably work

[–] Serinus@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago

Good. If Cory Booker sees the way the winds are blowing and wants to start pushing in that direction, good.

You can tell Fox News is scared because when I googled his name, I got

Top stories - Fox News- Cory Booker confronted with old clip of himself saying he loves Donald Trump

(The context is that he's religious and loves all people, including his enemies, but of course they leave that out.)

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 1 week ago (2 children)

At this point... basically only on doddering idiot dem voters who still think Bill Maher is worth listening to.

... I wonder if there are more detailed numbers on how his viewership stats break down...

....Does he realize he's talking about himself?

[–] harrys_balzac@lemmy.dbzer0.com 23 points 1 week ago

Definitely not.

[–] goferking0@lemmy.sdf.org 14 points 1 week ago

Me may still think his pointless filibuster will earn him leadership

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 76 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Objectively fucking hilarious.

This man has been responsible for stomping down the voices who seek to replace him. AOC, Mamdani, Ossof, Platner...keep naming them.

He is no different than Schumer. Fuck both of you.

Yep, we all agree, he needs to be replaced or taken out of the leadership position. We will not forget that he and schumer voted to end the shut down we were winning for no reason that I can see.

[–] devolution@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago (7 children)

You're talking about Jeffries, not Booker.

Motherfucker filibustered for over 24 hours, fasted in preparation to do so, only to undo every fucking word he spewed by voting in Trump's nominees.

[–] I_Has_A_Hat@lemmy.world 35 points 1 week ago (2 children)

It wasn't a filibuster. No legislation was being held up. He just gave a long speech as a performance piece. People keep trying to say he had the longest filibuster, but it literally wasn't one.

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 9 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

He’s the 2nd most pathetic out of all the Dems besides Schumer. This dude only cares for appearing to do anything, but never actually does anything because he’s a bought centrist.

Damn, that was a good catch. I had misremembered it as well.

[–] Hello_there@fedia.io 24 points 1 week ago (1 children)

He is definitely against litmus tests regarding AIPAC.

[–] BedSharkPal@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 week ago

Yup. He needs to sit down.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 23 points 1 week ago

You're right, Cory. So drop out of your fucking primary and endorse a real leader.

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 22 points 1 week ago

He also said that “purity tests” within the party have led to more division in the US.

What he's saying is he wants more Conservatives in the Democratic party.

F this guy and his failure of Democratic leadership.

[–] aaa999@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago (2 children)

"'I’ve called for a generational renewal, because this left-right divide is killing our country and our adversaries know it.' He also said that 'purity tests' within the party have led to more division in the US."

yeah this is kind of the opposite issue of what anyone competent would want to address with chuck schumer

[–] sp3ctr4l@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Its also just complete horseshit.

Anybody remeber how David Hogg was actually trying to do this, 9 months ago, earlier than that?

And... basically 0 large parts of the Dem fundraising apparatus got involved in any way?

And... because Hogg tried to do this... he got ousted from his position in the party?

https://www.aol.com/david-hogg-pledged-unleash-20m-193729589.html?guccounter=1

You uh, you coulda said something at that point, Cory.

Flamethrowers for the ratfuckers, that'd how they clean em up in the sewers of NYC, I hear.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 8 points 1 week ago

These democrats think the problem is aversion to genocide and not blindly supporting the party. They would rather compromise with the Nazis, than challenge them from a leftist perspective:

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 15 points 1 week ago

He's not the worst, but he's definitely part of the problem. When he calls for new leadership, he really means give it to him, and he wouldn't be much better than Schmuckie Boy. He'd be just as Zionist, that's for sure.

If Booker becomes president, MAGA will be back in power 4 years later.

[–] ImgurRefugee114@reddthat.com 15 points 1 week ago

this left-right divide is killing our country

So you want the nazi-simp vote. Got it.

[–] uberdroog@lemmy.world 14 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Then looks directly in the mirror unironocally

Yeah, you first you poor excuse for a lukewarm wet towel.

[–] shweddy@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

If you smelt it you dealt it. Get out and make room for someone who actually gives a fuck

[–] inb4_FoundTheVegan@lemmy.world 13 points 1 week ago

Absolutely true.

But Booker ain't that leader.

[–] Manjushri@piefed.social 10 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Senator Andy Kim countered accusations that the Democratic party is divided, saying “this is the most united I’ve ever seen the Senate Democrats,”

That's not a counter. Just because this is the most united he's seen the Democratic party does not mean that it is united. Divided is the natural state of Democrats. It the words of Will Rogers, “I’m not a member of any organized political party…. I’m a Democrat.”

Starting with himself, right? Pompous asshole.

Complaining about purity tests is often a dog whistle to say that the rights of minorities and women are expendable.

[–] AdolfSchmitler@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

David Hogg was working towards exactly that until the DNC ousted him. God forbid politicians do any fucking work.

[–] berno@lemmy.world 2 points 5 days ago

They ratfucked Bernie too.

[–] MrsVeggies@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 1 week ago (7 children)

Just another example of Democrats acting like they oppose themselves in order to crush thier opposition.

“Americans want a new generation of leaders that show that they can lift the whole country up,” Booker added. “It is time for a new vision of our country that is far more uniting that brings people together, doesn’t deepen divides.”

And I want to see the Epstein class in a supermax prison. You know, let them see the kind of prison system they advocate for first hand.

[–] Deceptichum@quokk.au 11 points 1 week ago (1 children)

This is peak, “we need to move forward and not dwell on the past” chud rhetoric. What America needs is accountability and hostility to the right.

[–] Zaktor@sopuli.xyz 7 points 1 week ago

He desperately wants to be the Obama redux who shows he's the bigger man by just forgiving all the crimes of his opponents. He dreams of an America where a black Muslim immigrant can share a Pepsi with the tatted up ICE agent in army surplus sent to deport his family.

Yes the Dems need to be near completely replaced including this moron. Anyone not bare minimum left of center (and that starts at being against capitalism) needs to go.

I wonder how many people are confusing booker and Jeffries. Is booker (senator from NJ) in a leadership role? While he sucks for his own reasons, if he wants to boot Schumer, I'm with him on that at least.

They need to come up with new and innovative ways to dump their entire base in favor of the mythical moderate center.
