Welcome to the News community!

Rules:

1. Be civil

Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.

2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.

Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.

3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.

Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.

4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.

Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.

5. Only recent news is allowed.

Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.

6. All posts must be news articles.

No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.

7. No duplicate posts.

If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.

8. Misinformation is prohibited.

Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.

9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.

All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.

10. Don't copy entire article in your post body

For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

When you pass them in the airport, tell them their children hate them, because they probably do. At least some of them know it, and it will really eat at them.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 3 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

Good. It’s what people voted for. Let the fuckers eat their cake.

[–] RestrictedAccount@lemmy.world 15 points 11 hours ago

Don’t forget, they built prison camps to hold millions of people

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 12 hours ago (1 children)

Every non-US American passport holder will immediately be sent to a concentration camp?

"You're a German tourist with a return flight next Monday I see. Mam, you're taking our jobs, you're eating our dogs, we will send you to an El Salvador prison straight away."

[–] FalschgeldFurkan@lemmy.world 2 points 11 hours ago (1 children)

Even North Korea doesn't do that

[–] Asfalttikyntaja@sopuli.xyz 5 points 10 hours ago

Imagine being North Korea and having more respect than USA. What a time to be alive.

How to reduce your countries travellers instantly to 0, just like they did with job creation. What semi sane person would travel to the us (or within for that matter)with the tsa handling things. You will be shipped off to Alligator Auschwitz in the blink of an eye before you even leave the airport. They will call it being efficient.

[–] Joeffect@lemmy.world 7 points 20 hours ago

Today is your lucky day we have a special upgraded flight for you, come right this way...

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 2 points 12 hours ago

This won't end well

[–] gdog05@lemmy.world 63 points 1 day ago (2 children)

The people with training (I'm against the TSA entirely but I will admit some of them have a good amount of training in respective disciplines) that are not getting paid get to work side by side with completely untrained assholes who are overpaid. This should go well.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 4 points 10 hours ago

There is no way there are enough ICE to do this.

Trump is setting up the US for a 'terrorist attack' to justify the Iran War. Some poor brown guy with a beard will get gunned down just trying to fly home to his family, and MAGA will thank Jessica Foster for being blonde.

[–] acantharea@lemmy.world 14 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

If history is any indication, they'll prob get caught in the cross-fire like local law enforcement in Chicago, LA, or Minneapolis

[–] zqps@sh.itjust.works 2 points 11 hours ago

The only way to stop an untrained ICE agent with a gun is a trained TSA agent with a gun.

Tom Homan confirms ~~ICE~~ Gestapo to be at airports starting Monday

Fixed the headline

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

ICE Apes is my name for them.

[–] fushuan@lemmy.blahaj.zone 4 points 10 hours ago (1 children)

Nah man, it's ICE. We don't need to link it to Germany anymore. Maybe the KKK if you want but MAGA and ICE have become prominent enough that there's no need to link them to Nazis. If Trump came before Hitler, they would call Nazis MAGA.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 1 points 6 hours ago

ICE Apes is my name for them.

[–] Akasazh@lemmy.world 3 points 13 hours ago

The Gestapo had intelligence, ICE is more like the SA, brute goons

[–] apfelwoiSchoppen@lemmy.world 36 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Also scabs. Gestapo scabs.

[–] Rekhyt@lemmy.world 8 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Scabs would imply the TSA is on strike

[–] JcbAzPx@lemmy.world 6 points 21 hours ago

It's a lockout where they're forced to keep working.

[–] SatansMaggotyCumFart@piefed.world 35 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

When will the first murder occur?

[–] criss_cross@lemmy.world 25 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Tomorrow. Question is where?

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 28 points 1 day ago (10 children)

EVERYBODY bring your whistles.

You know what to do.

[–] tatterdemalion@programming.dev 1 points 9 hours ago (2 children)

Whistles aren't doing jack. We need a general strike. Stop proposing distractions from real solutions.

[–] SeeMarkFly@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 hours ago

I'm gonna DO everything I can think of every day.

I'm looking for a removed in the armor.

Here is a picture of the front of MY house on the highway.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today -1 points 6 hours ago

General strikes won't work in America. MAGA doesn't care if we go without jobs or money, and there are more than enough desperate poor people that they won't have any problem finding scabs to replace strikers.

We have a mechanism where we can deny them funding, and shut THEM down, and deny them their paychecks. Hurt THEM with our strategies, not us.

Shut it all down, and let chaos reign. Elect Democrats, and it will end.

She had a water bottle larger than 6 oz. I feared for my life.

"The plane was heading right for me!"

[–] TimboSlice@discuss.online 17 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Combine racist xenophobic nazis holding guns and qualified immunity with stressed out, exhausted travelers. What a recipe for disaster.

[–] itsprobablyfine@sh.itjust.works 1 points 9 hours ago

I feel like this is a really bad idea on their part. So far they've only been terrorizing blue communities, now everyone is gonna get a taste. Just a litttttle but harder for people to ignore their own eyes and ears.

[–] flandish@lemmy.world 16 points 23 hours ago

nazis gonna nazi.

[–] Uranus_Hz@lemmy.zip 7 points 20 hours ago

ICE agents are there to convince TSA agents to join ICE.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca -2 points 10 hours ago

So this means ICE at Toronto airport.

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca -4 points 10 hours ago

What's the polymarket over/under on the first panic murder by April?

[–] LibertyLizard@slrpnk.net 6 points 21 hours ago (2 children)

In an interview with ABC’s “This Week,” Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy said that Democrats view the long lines as “leverage” for their demands of change.

“Democrats want to see long lines at airports as leverage. President Trump’s trying to take that leverage away and not make the American people suffer,” Duffy said.

This strategy doesn't make sense to me. Wouldn't Trump want disruption to blame on congressional democrats? Or is the assumption the American people will always blame the president?

I would think if they're able to keep government functions going without funding DHS then it will just prove to people that there was never any need to fund it.

[–] anon_8675309@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

This is Trump demonstrating that he has his own police force that he can deploy to any situation he pleases.
