As much as I love these quippy jokes at their expense, I feel that our reliance on humor allows for ambiguity. The only appropriate response to anyone saying they're an alpha male is, "that's really fucking stupid."

Even if alpha wolves were a real thing calling yourself an alpha then basically means that you're a coward who will only nip at the heels of an enemy when you are absolutely sure you have vastly overwhelming numbers and can wear your enemy down over time, because you sure as shit can't take them down one on one.
