Rather, whether the UASAR actually existed was uncertain in the dream, like some people were saying that the country was just a "CIA hoax meant to discredit socialism". The people on Team Hoax would point out anachronisms in official accounts of the UASAR's history, like how the president of the UASAR was apparently a fan of EarthBound and the 1997 film Cube years before these works were released; how nobody alive in the early '90s actually remembers hearing about the UASAR at the time; or how Wikipedians couldn't even agree on facts as basic as whether the UASAR even had a flag. The people on Team Flag, I should say, believed that the UASAR's flag was either red or orange with a black phallus hieroglyph in the middle, a design derogatorily referred to as the "cock flag" by Team No Flag.

The flag of the UASAR having a giant penis on it was actually one of the country's lesser sexual scandals, as the Wikipedia article for the country's first and only president, whose name I can't remember, was like 90% dedicated to chronicling his sexual fetishes around things like gore, mutilation and sadism, that he vented by embezzling state funds into "borderline pornographic low-budget horror short films". It was supposedly Mr. President's "utterly incompetent absentee rule" of his country that played a major role in the UASAR's collapse in 1993, just three years after it was founded in 1990.

The official story behind how the UASAR came to be was that a coalition of Eastern Bloc (?) socialist states launched a joint invasion of Yemen and Egypt in 1990 to "prevent the fall of socialism in the Middle East", and this short-lived occupation hastily merged North Yemen, South Yemen, and Egypt into the United Autistic Socialist Arab Republic of Yemen and Egypt, without much regard for setting up a stable long-term competent government. This led to the national leadership of the UASAR consisting of cliques of personally weird, ideologically incoherent opportunists and such. In 1992, the UASAR invaded and annexed the decidedly non-Arab-majority region of Northern Cyprus — apparently to boost national morale and for strategic reasons due to Cyprus' location relative to the Zionist entity — and renamed itself to the United Autistic Socialist Arab Republic of Yemen, Egypt, and Northern Cyprus, a name used for less than a year before the UASAR finally collapsed back into Yemen, Egypt, and Northern Cyprus.

Self-identified leftists on Team No Hoax often said that the UASAR was a practical, real-world example of how "socialist revolution cannot be imposed from outside", while a minority said that the country was actually governed well at first but turned sour in 1992 due to something like CIA infiltration of the leadership, while an even smaller minority of self-identified leftists defended the UASAR's actions to the bitter end in 1993. Team Hoax and Team No Hoax leftists of course hated each other's guts, the former accusing the latter of being "ridiculously gullible", and the latter accusing the former of "denying history to avoid confronting reality".

As for the UASAR's official name… it was literally chosen by throwing darts at a list of adjectives. One of the options was "autistic" supposedly because nobody in the national leadership actually knew what autism was, and just thought that "autistic" was just another way of saying "independent, standing on its own".

How do people have such detailed dreams? I feel inhuman because I don't experience this

The thing is that the dream itself wasn't necessarily "that" detailed as I experienced it: My dreams will often be vague and inconsistent and really a bit psychedelic as I'm experiencing them, but the act of writing down the imagery after the fact pretty much forces me to pick one interpretation of what I actually saw, and forces me to fit everything into some sort of coherent narrative. Arguably that makes this description disingenuous, but what am I supposed to say? The most "honest" recollection would be practically unreadable. It's better to present the details as honestly as possible but in a way that actually makes sense and is entertaining to read.

I can get behind the president for this, Cube is a cult hit.

And there's the milkshake duck.

By the way, when I say that Mr. President was a fan of EarthBound, what I mean is that his presidential sash was just an incredibly detailed embroidery of Giygas. He was "really into" uncannily contorted faces of unbearable anguish, as said.
