You can't make MIGA without breaking some eggs folks

trump-kubrick-stare

Trump is completely determined to fuck up US hegemony so much worse than GWB could have dreamed.

Iran has a population of 93 million. America is not capable of invading and occupying it.

[–] axont@hexbear.net 13 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Furthermore America wasn't capable of invading and occupying Afghanistan, a country much poorer and less equipped than Iran.

Question is, does Trump know what unconditional surrender means, or does he just think it’s a cooler, more badass version of surrender?

[–] SchillMenaker@hexbear.net 30 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Why are you asking that while wearing your "Trump thinks unconditional surrender is just a more badass version of surrender" t-shirt?

"unconditional surrender" isn't really a thing, it's a refusal to accept surrender. In reality, conditions are the POINT of a surrender. If your opponent isn't offering any guarantees why wouldn't you fight to the last man, woman and child? "Unconditional" could mean "we are going to execute everyone in this country". That's why it was demanded of Japan - there was no surrender they could offer that wouldn't allow the US to say it wasn't enough and nuke them anyway, which is exactly what happened.

It's a prettied-up version of "no quarter" intended to obfuscate the war crime.

Holy cringe this guy is out of ideas and has no plan.

[–] oliveoil@hexbear.net 21 points 3 days ago (3 children)

I heard someone say somewhere that Iran is the biggest country the US has ever invaded.

[–] ourtimewillcome@hexbear.net 20 points 3 days ago (1 children)

they invaded russia in 1918

[–] Crucible@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago

The original coalition of the willing

[–] jack@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago

Well, all the land the US stole in the first place, from natives and Mexico

[–] machiabelly@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And this is the weakest the US's military has been since like, the war of 1812

[–] UmbraVivi@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago) (2 children)

By what metric? Serious question

[–] blunder@hexbear.net 7 points 3 days ago

In 1811 we had more F-22s

[–] machiabelly@hexbear.net 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

The fact that we can't produce enough materiel. If we can't provide enough materiel for Ukraine how are we supposed to support a war with Iran? The homefront can tolerate minimal casualties. Drones and new missile technologies have greatly weakened tanks and aircraft carriers, which the USA relies on. The 1812 bit is kinda non-sensical. Just that the US military is not, imo, actually capable of sustaining a prolonged land engagement of any kind.

Although, I'm definitely not as knowledgeable as many others here.

[–] Le_Wokisme@hexbear.net 32 points 3 days ago (1 children)

cool so the US will be surrendering to Iran?

[–] DogThatWentGorp@hexbear.net 8 points 3 days ago

Unconditionally, even.

His tweets used to be funny, unpredictable, riddled with wacky and memorable misspells like "hamberders" and "covfefe." Everyone has a catchy nickname, "Crazy Bernie", "Crooked Hillary", "Sleepy Joe", "Little Marco", "Lyin' Ted," etc. Now it is formulaic in its unhingeness, always with random words in full capital, and it always ends with "Thank you for your attention to this matter" - as if they just used AI to simulate the greatest hits, but there was no artistry in the shitposting and it is never funny anymore.

Big Man fell off, washed

[–] Redcuban1959@hexbear.net 9 points 3 days ago

I believe they are using ai to make these tweets tbh.

[–] comrade_pibb@hexbear.net 8 points 3 days ago

He used to be so big and wet and now he's just that gross dried out sponge that fell behind the washing machine

[–] 9to5@hexbear.net 25 points 3 days ago

Got it. Troops will be home by Christmas

[–] save_vs_death@hexbear.net 24 points 3 days ago (1 children)

never gonna happen unless the big wet man is ready to nuke tehran

[–] ElChapoDeChapo@hexbear.net 22 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Becoming increasingly depressed thinking that's exactly what's gonna happen doomjak

[–] huf@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago

it's either that or the US withdraws and israel nukes tehran...

[–] CrawlMarks@hexbear.net 20 points 3 days ago

American unconditional surrender is infact on the table. They can destroy our fragile empire and by contrast we can not really convincingly project force into their sphere of influence

[–] rottenmummy@lemmy.ml 16 points 3 days ago

Yo! You can't even make your own country great. Only the billionaires in it.

[–] Thordros@hexbear.net 14 points 3 days ago

I'm really looking forward to all the video clips of him saying "MIGA" out loud and not realizing what it sounds like.

[–] Bazell@lemmy.zip 16 points 3 days ago (4 children)

This very precisely refers to the USA, actually. And we don't even need to destroy the USA, just remove all the garbage. And the first step is to remove Donald.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 37 points 3 days ago (1 children)

And we don't even need to destroy the USA

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 16 points 3 days ago (1 children)
[–] Jabril@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago (1 children)

How did you get a video of me entering my own home???

[–] FlakesBongler@hexbear.net 13 points 3 days ago

How do you think?

[–] jack@hexbear.net 34 points 3 days ago

And we don't even need to destroy the USA, just remove all the garbage

Oops, it's all garbage

[–] vovchik_ilich@hexbear.net 15 points 3 days ago

don't even need to destroy the USA, just remove all the garbage

:same-picture:

[–] Kumikommunism@hexbear.net 3 points 3 days ago

"We don't need to cure the brain cancer, just remove all the tumors. And the first step is to remove the headache."

You are not smart.

[–] Crucible@hexbear.net 11 points 3 days ago

next we learn his definition of 'unconditional surrender' is them dropping every bomb they have on Natanz then running away

[–] altphoto@lemmy.today 11 points 3 days ago

Is this a real post? Wow.

[–] calmblue75@lemmy.ml 3 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Unconditional surrender is not a deal. 'Deal' means there are conditions involved and mutually agreed upon.
