If a white guy has a black guy as a friend is he really white πŸ€”?

[–] errer@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago (1 children)

If a man has a woman for a friend, is he really a man?

The answers are yes and no.

[–] myster0n@feddit.nl 6 points 1 month ago

No, it's perfect : if he considers himself smart, he'll say the answer to the second question is yes, so that means that the answer to the first question should also be yes. And if he thinks that the first question should be no, then he gets to find out what that makes him.

Some people really do be homochondriacs

[–] TigerAce@lemmy.dbzer0.com 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

The technical term for this, if I remember correctly, is 'touchΓ©'.

[–] HowAbt2day@futurology.today 6 points 1 month ago (1 children)

I think it’s β€œDouché” in this case.

Even when responding to a douche?

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 4 points 1 month ago

Wait, but if the second part is true then... omg, I'm gay.

[–] melsaskca@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Silly analogy. It leads me to wonder, though, if you can have a friendship with someone who you have nothing in common with.

You can have a friendship, but you'll be unlikely to be best friends.

But it's almost impossible to have absolutely nothing in common with another person.

I consider myself pretty smart.

My old roommate had this friend that would come over tho. And him...he's probably very lucky his first and last name are only four letters each, or he may still have trouble writing it to this day.

I could feel the IQ drop when he walked in the room.

Your roommate was friends with Elon Musk?

[–] WorldsDumbestMan@lemmy.today 1 points 1 month ago

But the second is more valid than the first.

Anyone wanna take the bet that this guy secretly hopes it does, using himself as one example and that it means another common friend of an openly gay friend that OP is crushing on is also secretly in the closet?

It just feels like there's some layers of denial involved in this question for them to even wonder it.
