I really wanted to get into that show, but I can not make it past the opening 😀

[–] ieatpwns@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Man once the opening credits are done the show opens with a banger you should try again

I found the plot very hard to follow and uninteresting. No character development at all.

This lives in my brain during every corporate jack off meeting.

I'm in one of those now!!! ...It takes a lot to make a stew...

Especially when people are just introducing themselves and stating their positions

I love Too Many Cooks but I haven't seen Unedited Footage of a Bear before. I'm excited to get into it but there is some sort of weird ad that the skip button doesn't work on. Thanks for the link!

Yeah just ignore the skip button, it'll go away when the Claridryl kicks in

Try "this house has people in it"

Don't forget about Broomshakalaka. That's also a delight.

Too Many Cooks was the best thing to just start watching without any expectations. Even having someone say "hey, you should watch this" sort of ruins it.

Fuck you OP, now I'm going to be singing this to myself for weeks.

Tom Scott's Lateral podcast cursed me, so I'm just passing it along to you all now so I can move on.

That show/video made me feel uncomfortable things that I don't even have words to express and I loved it. I didn't technically see it live when it first aired, but most have seen it not long after on the internet. It always stuck with me and helps me to understand that even if I don't understand the appeal of any specific piece of art work, that those pieces of work speak to other people in the way that Too Many Cooks spoke to me. It made me feel things that are indescribable.

There was another show called "Don't Hug Me I'm Scared" that presses the same buttons and causes similar emotional responses from me.

Dunno why but I can't get enough of this shit and I want more.

That's what they talked about on the podcast I heard! Casper Kelly gave Lars VT an acting credit with this since he's normally a director.

Have you tried watching local58 or Gemini home entertainment?

[–] prole@lemmy.blahaj.zone 2 points 1 month ago

Don't Hug me I'm Scared is insane, and apparently was just picked up by Dropout

[–] Soggy@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

I've been getting that kind of feeling from aggressive, experimental music. Clipping. Backxwash. Daughters.

Too Many Cooks is 12 years old? How could this happen?

[–] Zozano@aussie.zone 15 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

IT TAKES A LOT TO MAKE A STEW

A PINCH OF SALT AND LAUGHTER TOO

A SCOOP OF KIDS TO ADD THE SPICE

A DASH OF LOVE TO MAKE IT NICE

AND YOU'VE GOT...

TOO MANY COOKS

absolute masterpiece. I went from crying of laughter to trembling panic so quickly. I will never forget my first watch.

[–] Zozano@aussie.zone 13 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Fun fact: you can add it on Radarr

members of the Cook family

Ohhhhhh, that's why there's too many cooks. Only took me thus many years to figure that out, lol

[–] Olhonestjim@lemmy.world 8 points 1 month ago (2 children)

I'm convinced that this and the other weird films they did were broadcast at times to deliberately fuck with people watching TV on drugs.

[–] Xanthrax@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago

Lol you don't need to be convinced. It started with late night infomercials and slowly evolved into the Brady Bunch.

Adult Swim Off the Air is great background noise for acid tripsΒ

[–] DABDA@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 month ago

"Too Many Cooks"
OR
"One toque over the line"

[–] you_are_dust@lemmy.world 3 points 1 month ago

I love this. I only watched it for the first time like 2 years ago.

[–] ThePantser@sh.itjust.works 3 points 1 month ago

Listened to Lateral recently?

I've seen a short movie about too many... oh. Cooks. Nevermind.

[–] Apeman42@lemmy.world 2 points 1 month ago (1 children)

Casper Kelly is amazing. I also recommend his workplace sitcom in hell, Your Pretty Face is Going to Hell.

Don’t forget Yule Log 1 & 2. Any Casper fan must watch those
