I'm mostly on the 20 meter band myself. There's an active packet community on 14.105 LSB.

Wu-Tang is for the ~~children~~ lemmings.
They might not be anything to fuck with either.
Overall? Between the Buried and Me
By genre?
Black Metal - White Ward (Slavs Ukraini!), Ihsahn
Death - First Fragment, Ulcerate
Instrumental - Animals as Leaders, CHON
(Post-)Hardcore - The Fall of Troy
Progressive (that isn't BTBAM) - Protest the Hero, Ne Obliviscaris
Opeth, although I don’t love their more recent drift away from death metal (dear god it’s been a decade now). I’ve really loved Cattle Decapitation’s newer stuff, too.
Oh and I second the guy declaring that Wu Tang is for the Children
I like you. You have the same taste as me.
Cattle has been on a streak the last decade or so. 4 or 5 albums that are all incredible.
King Gizzard and the Lizard Wizard because they are carrying all of the genres
Ween
I was never as into Ween as some of my friends were, but The Mollusk is a masterpiece IMO.
It's kinda like Mr Bungle - California. If you can casually make an album of pop music that good, you have my eternal respect, even if I never fully get into the less approachable work.
Fuckin magnets
To be fair, I have an Engineering degree and still don't know how magnets work.
The Roots (first four albums especially)
Godspeed You! Black Emperor / A Sliver Mt. Zion
Portishead, Massive Attack
Public Enemy
The Presidents Of The United States Of America.
Silly lyrics about bugs and serious rock. What's not to like?
King Gizzard and the Wizard Lizard. Their live shows kick ass and they've got such amazing chemistry together. Love listening to them jam.
Dumbfounded dipshit, checking in!
Tool
Dream Theater
Saw them last week. Omg, I wish it never ended.
Alestorm! It has everything, drunk pirates, silly pirates, horny pirates, bloodlusting pirates and pizza, for reasons I guess.
So many favourite bands. Soilwork, Dream Theatre, Decapitated, Fear Factory.
jethro tull. Since I was small.
It's hard to pick one between ELO, Jamiroquai, the Bee Gees and Linkin Park.
I was so sad to learn of Chester's passing. He was a trouble man. Very troubled :(
Daft Punk
King Crimson is the official answer.
But I put Tool, Meshuggah, Between the Buried and Me, and maybe Karnivool in second place.
Vulfpeck
If I had to pick one, I'd have to pick The Clash.
Circa Survive.
E: Anthony Green has such an emotive voice, especially on Juturna and my personal favorite album On Letting Go.
Godspeed You! Black Emperor and Silver Mt Zion
Exodus.
Of course it's kind of a situational thing, favorite band can be different depending in when it's asked but I think Love has been the one band I never take a break from listening to and never get tired of.
Talking Heads is a very close second, and then many many more close third.
I really want to start sharing music more, but I have to find good ways to share the playlists I make.
Favorite bands by studio albums? Depends on mood:
-
The Magnetic Fields / Stephin Merritt's other projects
-
Lifter Puller / Craig Finn's other projects
-
Nineteen Forty-Five / 3 Finger Cowboy / the members' other projects
-
100 gecs
Favorite band for live shows?
- Aleks & the Drummer (sadly defunct)
Favorite new artist?
- Amélie Farren
The Offspring
Between the Buried and Me is one of my favorites, as is Parkway Drive recently. Other top artists are ones like gloryhammer, Amararanthe, and Alestorm. Outside of metal, bands like Supercommuter/Optimus Rhyme, MC Frontalot, mc chris, and Captain Dan tend to be my most played
One of my favorite random artists I've found recently is Anthony Vincent who makes songs covers in the style of other artists, and I just can't get enough of Mr Brightside by A7X
Fit for an Autopsy.
For the past several years, I'd have to say The Bamboos. I love me some good funk.
NOFX
The Tragically Hip.
