Mace Nancy

I'm not really picky on this, a flail or a morningstar would be fine. Nunchaku even

A Republican family member was telling me about how their (multi-millionaire) nephew's (multi-millionaire) dad was trying to ~~evade~~ avoid taxes on a boat he purchased. The Canadian resident was buying a boat for his vacation home in Florida - already multiple capital offenses in my opinion but I'm not king of the world, yet.

I don't recall the details but he thought he could purchase a boat in the Great Lakes region, sail through CAN and down to FL and avoid taxes. When he hit CAN waters the customs officers said, okay well this is a brand new purchase you're going to have to pay tax on it. The rich guy hemmed and hawed that he was just passing through for a few hours and this is so unreasonable! I think he ended up having to pay what he properly owed.

Anyway I try not to let my real freak self show around family, but to this story I couldn't help but miming and exclaiming "This is me playing the world's tiniest violin!" and the person telling the story said basically, "Yeah when nephew was telling me this story I thought 'Why are you telling me this? Why did you think this would be sympathetic?'" Sorry for the shaggy dog story but my point is that even people who ought to be in the pandering demographic for this have zero fucking patience for this bullshit.

like most boat-buying patriotic Americans, I like to navigate my boat right alongside the rear entrance of an abandoned Kmart.

The woke backlash to the current cultural moment is going to make 2016 look like 2003

You think that'll happen at all? I'd love to see it if it does.

It will be puppet shows huddled around bonfires, but it will be PC as fuck

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 11 points 1 month ago

Ok but you have to pay for your own coastguard rescue.

At this point, I am pretty sure that the American proletariat will never have a revolution.

We're all just temporarily embarrassed boat owners inbetween boats

There she is, the seaward

This is like a 4x game bonus effect. Spain gets no tax on land vehicles and China gets no tax on aircraft

Are you disrespecting the beautiful boaters?

[–] Damarcusart@hexbear.net 2 points 1 month ago

Aha! They look like that because the smile doesn't reach their eyes. It is a threatening look pretending to be a pleasant one. Their supporters don't care because they already like them, so they don't notice or care. It's the same with any group I think, anyone can give off that uncanny sort of look. But the right wing are also probably the least likely to smile genuinely, which is why they always seem to have more of this "serial killer stare" than most.
