I think JKR was friends with Epstein but not a paedophile, she was just in it for the love of the game (transphobia).

[–] Carcharodonna@hexbear.net 39 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Yeah, I don’t think she’s a pedophile but being friends with one really destroys her “protecting women” schtick

Idk, transphobes are sus, and when someone is as obsessive as she is about being a bigot...

some people deserve the slander regardless of the reality. jk rowling is one of those people. i don't care if this is real. i'm spreading it regardless.

I wouldn't be surprised, but also I'm not sure if this is good enough evidence.

Jx is a really short string, it is probably used as a signature by dozens or hundreds of women.

The broadway thing could also have been arranged through some other channel, I'm sure epstein had plenty of connections there outside of rowling.

She's a PoS as it is, no need to drag near-conspiracy theories into it. Same reason why it's counterproductive to dig up wild stories about trump from the files, he's a pedo piece of shit but those stories are clearly and obviously made up and discredit everyone who brings them up.

I've never seen it used before, but assuming dozens or hundreds of women have used it, how many of those women would be high profile enough to be invited to a meeting with Peter Mandelson and Ehud Barak, and turn the offer down because they are tired of flying and/or going to NYC? Yeah, it's not a smoking gun, but combined with the fact that her team seems to know Epstein enough to do favors for him, and that people have reached out to him to set up meetings with her, seems more than a little fishy to me.

Not sure about all of it, but she did send him an invite to the stage version of harry potter in 2018(10 years after his first child sex offense conviction)

the timestamps are consistent with "jx" being a few hours east of epstein for that conversation. in england, for instance.

Animorphs chads stay winning

[–] mathemachristian@hexbear.net 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Wasn't animorphs meant to be anticommonist propaganda? The yeerk are like dangerous commie propaganda taking over someones mental faculties or something?

I don't see it that way, but it is up to interpretation of course. It is more of an anti imperialist, anti war story, and having teenagers going through horrors of wars and losing innocence. I can't speak fully for them because I'm not trans, but I know many trans influencers have claimed that a subplot of a character in Animorphs who enjoyed being in animal body moreso than his human body as a trans allegory.

The antiwar message especially rang true considering the series ended during the peak of US War on Terror in 2001. Some fans have argued that Applegate drove the ending into the ditch out of spite because she disagreed with the war (kinda based in hindsight lol). Here's a quote from the author

So, you don’t like the way our little fictional war came out? You don’t like SPOILERS You don’t like that one war simply led to another? Fine. Pretty soon you’ll all be of voting age, and of draft age. So when someone proposes a war, remember that even the most necessary wars, even the rare wars where the lines of good and evil are clear and clean, end with a lot of people dead, a lot of people crippled, and a lot of orphans, widows and grieving parents.

She is scum, but this seems a little flimsy to me

Am I crazy or is the "agin appropriate" comment a pedophilia play on words?

[–] hector@lemmy.today 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I imagine she drinks gin and tonics or martinis and the like, a gin.

[–] sewer_rat_420@hexbear.net 3 points 2 months ago

I read it as age inappropriate
