Please provide an archive link to the poll on fox news. Everyone has an hour. Archive.is is a good one.

You can tell because it uses his old portrait rather than his current supervillain one.

[–] Archangel1313@lemmy.ca 6 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

And, Kim Jong Un is higher on the list than Putin.

[–] chaogomu@lemmy.world 1 points 2 hours ago (1 children)

To be fair, Kim Jong Un could easily an order, what he thinks is a limited response to South Korea fucking around, which they've been doing, which would lead to a somewhat automatic chain of events that could end all life on Earth in nuclear hellfire. And this all could happen in less than 30 minutes.

[–] mech@feddit.org 1 points 18 minutes ago

Putin has already done that and the chain of events are rolling. Which have lead to currently around 1 million dead Europeans, and counting.

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 5 points 7 hours ago

Perfect and thanks. I'll leave this pinned at the top since it provides context.

[–] tomiant@piefed.social 1 points 7 hours ago

Oh, right! I remember this one!

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 hour ago

Shocking Putin's actually that low really.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 22 points 6 hours ago (3 children)

Putting Kim Jong Un in front like that is silly, North Korea holds such a small amount of power it's ridiculous.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 56 minutes ago

KIm is like spicy pekingnese that the ccp owns when they need to distract the west.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 15 points 6 hours ago (3 children)

Absolutely absurd to think North Korea is a bigger threat than china and russia combined.

[–] oktoberpaard@feddit.nl 2 points 33 minutes ago

I assume that the percentages refer to the number of respondents that have voted for that world leader as the biggest threat, so these numbers don’t tell anything about the relative perceived threat amongst them. The only thing you can conclude is that more people ranked Kim Jong Un the highest than Jinping or Putin.

This was in 2019 and if my memory serves me right, Kim Jong Un had been testing an intercontinental missile around that time and was threatening the world with nuclear weapons much more than usual. Putin had already annexed regions in Ukraine, but apparently more people found Kim Jong Un to be the highest threat to world peace with how things were developing back then. The full scale invasion started a few years later.

chinas threat is likely more economical(belt road initiatives, buying thier manufactering) as they have been doing for decades. also china has been gutting SIBERIA for a while for natural resources.

[–] huppakee@piefed.social 4 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

In 2018 China seemed only a threat to Taiwan and Russia seemed only a threat to Georgia. But yeah, still crazy numbers. The really absurd thing is that there is not a single pandemic virus in the list.

[–] Ilovethebomb@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 hours ago

Pandemic viruses aren't world leaders, to be fair.

[–] FireRetardant@lemmy.world 2 points 5 hours ago

I think a big part is NK postures like a threat, but often only meddles in its own affairs in the grand scheme of things. Russia is actively waging a war against Ukraine and China has been provoking trade wars and digital spying/manipulatation.

I also think NK size and posturing actually makes the world more ready to deal with them than the other 2 countries. NK is a much smaller nation to monitor than russia or china and since it pretty much only plays hostile, everyone is already a little on edge with them whereas both russia and china want to play by the rules most of the time but can be risky to trust.

However I'm just a guy on the internet and I certainly have a flawed view of these countries and the whole geopolitical situation so maybe NK actually deserves 30% in reality.

[–] TheLowestStone@lemmy.world 6 points 5 hours ago

I think it mostly stems from people thinking that North Korea would actually be crazy enough to launch nukes.

[–] Console_Modder@sh.itjust.works 1 points 3 hours ago

Absolutely cursed blunt rotation right there

[–] ALoafOfBread@lemmy.ml 4 points 7 hours ago

Rigged. No way the only FIFA peace prize winner would lose to all those non-FIFA-peace-prize-winners. And he is a 2nd hand nobel peace prize laureate.

There is one prominent world leader conspicuously missing from that roster.

Maybe it was a pre-set multiple choice.

Who is that guy next to Angel Dumott Schunard...?

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social -2 points 8 hours ago (1 children)

C'mon.

Trump Always Chickens Out!

The guy who hid from protestors is not the guy who is going to pull the trigger.

[–] SanctimoniousApe@lemmings.world 4 points 6 hours ago (1 children)

You assume Trump is anything more than the Heritage Foundation's hand puppet. They'll switch hands to Vance once Trump stops being useful, and he's actually worse because he knows he's a puppet and is still doing it willingly.

[–] DagwoodIII@piefed.social -1 points 5 hours ago (2 children)

Two things.

First, do you think the Heritage Foundation is crazy enough to want a war?

Second, Vance isn't Trump. He hasn't got what it takes to get the MAGats in line.

[–] Sharkticon@lemmy.zip 2 points 1 hour ago

They walked around holding cups of Vance cum. I don't know why people think he can't get them in line. These are people that crave subjugation.

  1. If they can use it to invoke martial law, and then restructure things as they wish - absolutely. Few things are as profitable as war for those who can afford to sit back and watch, anyway.

  2. He doesn't need to - they're already there, and committed. Never mind HF is obviously intent upon leaving little left of the structure that allowed the US to even vaguely claim itself to be a democracy, so people liking Vance at that point is irrelevant.
