Moderator Guidelines

Moderator Guidelines

  • Don’t be mean to users. Be gentle or neutral.
  • Most moderator actions which have a modlog message should include your username.
  • When in doubt about whether or not a user is problematic, send them a DM.
  • Don’t waste time debating/arguing with problematic users.
  • Assume the best, but don’t tolerate sealioning/just asking questions/concern trolling.
  • Ask another mod to take over cases you struggle with, if you get tired, or when things get personal.
  • Ask the other mods for advice when things get complicated.
  • Share everything you do in the mod matrix, both so several mods aren't unknowingly handling the same issues, but also so you can receive feedback on what you intend to do.
  • Don't rush mod actions. If a case doesn't need to be handled right away, consider taking a short break before getting to it. This is to say, cool down and make room for feedback.
  • Don’t perform too much moderation in the comments, except if you want a verdict to be public or to ask people to dial a convo down/stop. Single comment warnings are okay.
  • Send users concise DMs about verdicts about them, such as bans etc, except in cases where it is clear we don’t want them at all, such as obvious transphobes. No need to notify someone they haven’t been banned of course.
  • Explain to a user why their behavior is problematic and how it is distressing others rather than engage with whatever they are saying. Ask them to avoid this in the future and send them packing if they do not comply.
  • First warn users, then temp ban them, then finally perma ban them when they break the rules or act inappropriately. Skip steps if necessary.
  • Use neutral statements like “this statement can be considered transphobic” rather than “you are being transphobic”.
  • No large decisions or actions without community input (polls or meta posts f.ex.).
  • Large internal decisions (such as ousting a mod) might require a vote, needing more than 50% of the votes to pass. Also consider asking the community for feedback.
  • Remember you are a voluntary moderator. You don’t get paid. Take a break when you need one. Perhaps ask another moderator to step in if necessary.

That’s a pretty advanced fetish, to be sure

[–] essell@lemmy.world 81 points 2 months ago

Four dimensional hyper-fetish!

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 44 points 2 months ago (4 children)

I want to know what that is, but I also know that I don’t want to know what that is.

[–] craftrabbit@lemmy.zip 30 points 2 months ago (1 children)

To me it looks like a cube

[–] Klear@quokk.au 31 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Looks like a tesseract to me. But one of the the eight cubes was replaced with Santa.

[–] craftrabbit@lemmy.zip 15 points 2 months ago

Hm, wanna know what this looks like rotated 180° around the w-axis

[–] yetAnotherUser@lemmy.ca 19 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Hi there. I'm sorry if you've been asked this multiple times around here and are tired of the same question over and over. But I wanna ask you whether you're @TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone 's secret twin sister. Thanks in advance. :)

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone 17 points 2 months ago (2 children)
[–] yetAnotherUser@lemmy.ca 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Oh... OK. Thanks for the confirmation :(

[–] TotallynotJessica@lemmy.blahaj.zone 7 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Sorry if that came across as mean, it's just that people seem to have a bunch of conspiracies about me. People have claimed I'm other users like @erotador@lemmy.blahaj.zone before, but even worse, they've insinuated that my name is actually Jessica 😡

[–] erotador@lemmy.blahaj.zone 13 points 2 months ago (1 children)

who the fuck would pick a dumb name like erotador when you could have a cute name like Jessica?

Idk, i find erotador cute and cool, just like you ;3

[–] yetAnotherUser@lemmy.ca 6 points 2 months ago

You didn't sound mean, I was just a bit sad that my conspiracy theory turned out to be wrong. I'm sorry for for the barrage of conspiracy theories you keep getting, and I'm especially sorry for how disrespectful some of them are (I mean, who the hell would think that your name is Jessica????).

I'm sure she's thrilled there's yet another user asking that.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I do admire her username, but am of no relation. Are we similar?

It's all fun and games until you get rotated about the W axis

[–] HakunaHafada@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 2 months ago (2 children)

It's shaped like a representation of a tessaract.

You can only get rotated about an axis in 3D, in 4D you get rotated about a plane (a better framing is, you always rotate within a plane in any dimension - because it takes 2 axes to have a rotation)

(sure i'm fun at parties whadyamean?)

Banished to the Prison Realm

[–] shininghero@pawb.social 28 points 2 months ago (3 children)

Wait, these are real? I thought they were some advanced fictional fetish material from E621.

[–] Gullible@sh.itjust.works 21 points 2 months ago (3 children)

This is certainly a more advanced rig than most, but their like is around. Though I’ve never seen a cube and the increased suction might hurt, and that makes me wonder whether this is an art piece. From what Ive seen, you usually space bag someone for advanced breath play, so this is new to me.

[–] bizarroland@lemmy.world 25 points 2 months ago

If you zoom in you can see a breathing tube, so this 8s definitely some sort of immobilization thing.

[–] zero_spelled_with_an_ecks@programming.dev 18 points 2 months ago (1 children)

I've seen one of these in person with a person in it. There's also ones that allow for the head to remain completely outside the seal if one doesn't fancy breathing through a tube.

[–] WhyIHateTheInternet@lemmy.world 10 points 2 months ago (1 children)

We all breathe through a tube. Technically.

[–] SlurpingPus@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Even more technically, each of us is a long tube with a bunch of junk around it.

Topological donuts

I see words and understand nothing 😂

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 8 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Vacuum beds are definitely a thing in real life. This prooooobably isn't, but its not my kink so I can't say for certain.

The fisting gasket is like the penis gasket but sized for your wrist.

I never thought I'd read those words together in a sentence

[–] vzqq@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 2 months ago (2 children)

And a girl in a Chell costume. I think the person in the vac cube is supposed to be the companion cube?

[–] Stamau123@lemmy.world 6 points 2 months ago

Behind the scenes photos

[–] festnt@sh.itjust.works 6 points 2 months ago

yeah i have no idea whats going on

but i do like portal!

[–] brognak@lemmy.dbzer0.com 5 points 2 months ago

I own one of their (normal) vacBeds. Woman who runs it is a sweetheart, and she hand makes them to order.

Their expensive, but honestly if you look at prices on latex sheeting that is both wide and thick enough to handle the stress without ripping constantly, her labor is only a small piece of the price.

[–] VaalaVasaVarde@sopuli.xyz 16 points 2 months ago (1 children)

Aaw they are missing their moms womb, or something?

[–] Carnelian@lemmy.world 27 points 2 months ago
