Excuse me but what the fuck? I can somehow rationalize the US wanting some additional security for their athletes. It's weird but America is weird so whatever. But what part of fucking IMMIGRATION AND CUSTOMS ENFORCEMENT agency indicates "we do operations on foreign soil"? Considering the level of their training they're probably the biggest threat at the Olympics.
Maybe they are there to make sure the US Olympic team don't try and make a run for it.

well this is just right out of the Nazi playbook. If this is for Vance and whomever else then generally this is the job of the Secret Service but it's clear now the administration doesn't trust the SS and would rather have their own people involved. Hitler pulled the same shit with the SA.
In fact I wouldn't be surprised if eventually Trump just dissolves the secret service in favor of ICE. It would be very convenient for them wouldn't it? all of sudden your former political enemies (Obama, Biden, Clinton) no longer have Secret Service protection and they can either go without or have ICE...yeah nothing at all could go wrong here.

Is anyone else just not feeling the Olympics this year?
I'm not a sports person and don't have a whole lot of national pride on a good day, but I've liked watching the Olympics since I was a kid.
I enjoy seeing people from all over the world with such outstanding abilities, experiencing the aesthetics of people from different places, and rooting for the underdogs.
This year, I'm just embarrassed of America. I hate seeing the rise of right wing ideology worldwide. I miss and worry about my former co-workers in Ukraine. There's constant pain, suffering, and death in Palestine and the middle east.
I don't know...it should be a bit of an escape, but the whole thing is bumming me out this year.
