If you're registered to vote then your phone number along with party affiliation is public information.
And here I was in primary school civics class learning that secrecy of vote was one of the fundamental conditions for democracy to exist 
party affiliation doesn't mean you vote for them. Fraud aside, more registered democrats voted for Bush in florida than Nader according to exit polls or whatever.
