The footage of the fatal shooting of Alex Jeffrey Pretti, said one journalist, “shows that the final act of his life was trying to help a woman who was being physically assaulted by the masked agents who would then kill him.”

In the original video of the shooting of a man in Minneapolis, identified by the Minneapolis Star Tribune at 37-year-old Alex Jeffrey Pretti, a woman in a pink coat was seen in the background filming the incident with her phone.

Drop Site News obtained footage that appeared "to come from the direction of the woman in pink filming from the sidewalk" and showed the shooting at a closer distance than the footage taken from inside Glam Doll Donuts.

In the video, the shooting victim, dressed in a brown coat and pants, is seen filming a federal agent with his phone. He's then seen guiding another person toward the sidewalk as the agent forcefully shoves a third person to the ground.

Sooooo is it just Minnesota that’s going to oppose this gestapo shit? Or nah.

I've read that Alex was a veteran. So he probably participated in overseas operations. He survived abroad against whoever he fought for his country, only to be executed in said country, in his own town, by what is probably a frustrated basement dweller without any more accomplishment in his life than insulting kids on CoD and gooning ten times a day.

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 7 points 3 hours ago (1 children)

Cite that claim. I'm not saying your wrong, but to my knowledge, he was a nurse working at a VA medical facility, rather than a veteran himself.

[–] frog_brawler@lemmy.world 8 points 3 hours ago

A lot of the folks working at the VA happen to be veterans. I'm not confirming or denying anything here, just saying there's a strong correlation.

Not exactly probably. Remember that around 1/3 of veterans, such as myself a former Navy Nuke Instructor, never went overseas. Also of the ones that do go to another country, 90% are support staff and never see active combat. He would have been one of those, if he ever even left the US, as he would have been a corpsman, (nurse or doctor,).and would have been serving at a hospital.

A bit off-topic, have you heard either of the Wake-ups episodes[1][2] from the Eyes Left podcast? And if so, do they resonate with your experiences in the force?

Looks like they are the ones starting a fight.... and escalated... and murdered. Sigh. A complete set-up to fail. Stay strong over there.

Alex Pretti was murdered.

Say it with me. This was no “shooting.”

And it’s going to keep happening again and again.

[–] errer@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

Since justice is dead, it’s time to get the shooters’ names out there. We all saw with our own eyes what happened.

It’s really difficult to make out what’s going on in the video. Which one was it that shot him - the grey jacket guy? Was there more than one of the ICE fuckers shooting him, or just one of them?

I either read or heard something on the news earlier that he was carrying a gun (which is totally legal for him to do, don't blame him for a second), and somehow the gun fell (I'm guessing in the tussle with the pepper spraying), but did the ICE agent pick up his gun and shoot him with it, or was it a different gun, or multiple guns... I've seen two angles here, I'm not able to discern who is doing what.

In one of the videos, it looks like you can see the gun hit the ground, and then grey jacket guy kicks it off and away... but then somehow grey jacket guy walks away from the scene with a gun in his hand???? So what the fuck happened exactly?

EDIT: Got it now, it was this one:

Kristi Noem lying on TV this very moment about Alex Pretti and painting him as terrorist. And then claims the investigation will be performed. It seems to me they performed investigation 5 seconds after they put like 15 rounds into Alex. This shit needs Nuremberg type trials for entire current USA administration starting with Trump, all his hyenas and all the agents that murdered Alex and Renee. USA is a lawless wild west. They aren't enforcing laws, they are playing Judge Dredd and interpret the laws pretty much randomly the way they feel, usually ending with innocent people dying. And then they continue lying about it. This is fucked.

[–] Hamartia@lemmy.world 5 points 3 hours ago

Not to be overly Comic-book-guy but:

Judge Dredd is never portrayed killing someone for his own gratification in 2000AD. He isn't racist, or to my knowledge, even a classist.

Yes, he is a 'judge' in an ultra violent society that devolves execution, due process and investigation to the officer on the beat.

But no one is above the law as far as he concerned not even the judiciary. There probably isn't a president of the US that he wouldn't have arrested for their crimes, and quite a few he'd execute for their crimes against humanity. Trump wouldn't have made it to this millennium.

These ICE thugs are just cowardly fascist scum. Law is just a weapon of suppression to them. For Judge Dredd the law was sacred and the only thing preventing humanity from eating itself in his post apocalyptic future hellscape.

Are the sanctimonious fucks who refused to vote because of Israel happy now?

[–] assassinatedbyCIA@lemmy.world -1 points 14 minutes ago

Continue to blame the voters for voting wrong. That’ll work.

[–] EndlessNightmare@reddthat.com 21 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

Alternately: after choosing to openly defy her voting base and refusing to budge on Israel, is Kamala happy now?

The DNC wrote a report on why the lost the election and chose not to release it. I wonder why. It's almost like shitting on your base isn't a winning strategy.

And before anyone thinks otherwise, I did not sit out during the election. So take it somewhere else.

[–] spacesatan@leminal.space 6 points 3 hours ago* (last edited 3 hours ago)

Well now I'm taking some solace knowing that libs who wanted to ignore the Palestinian genocide still think leftists are why they lost. Meet our demands next time I guess.

Weird how you still want to blame leftists for having demands like 'stop the genocide' instead of blaming kamala for refusing to agree to such a simple demand. Kind of says a lot about how little Palestinian lives matter in your eyes.

[–] Aljernon@lemmy.today 19 points 5 hours ago (1 children)

Are the DNC fucks who refused to run a quality candidate or a quality campaign because that would upset their corporate donors happy now?

[–] yamper@piefed.social 12 points 3 hours ago (2 children)

youre right but given the choice between a shit democrat candidate/campaign and this, the answer was incredibly obvious from the beginning and if anyone thought otherwise theyre a dumbass
