Why is ICE even armed? Maybe, and I'm just throwing it out here, but maybe immigration violations shouldn't be worthy of a death sentence? And if an officer is in danger, maybe just de-escalate and go away until you can pull in trained personnel to handle potentially violent interactions.

Copaganda. I mean this is true of like 99% of al law enforcement activities, not just immigration related. But the American people are so indoctrinated into supporting these paramilitary goons that they accept it as normal.

DHS released this as an official statement:
ICE officers in Minneapolis were conducting targeted operations when rioters began blocking ICE officers and one of these violent rioters weaponized her vehicle, attempting to run over our law enforcement officers in an attempt to kill them—an act of domestic terrorism.
An ICE officer, fearing for his life, the lives of his fellow law enforcement and the safety of the public, fired defensive shots. He used his training and saved his own life and that of his fellow officers. The alleged perpetrator was hit and is deceased. The ICE officers who were hurt are expected to make full recoveries.
Of course... there's video online of the incident already, and naturally it shows that that statement is complete horseshit (not that anybody had any doubts about that). This will probably get taken down soon, but here (NSFL):

Video is posted to Bluesky. The agent walks up to her car window and starts shooting almost immediately. One through the windshield the others through the driver's side window.

The more they keep getting away with shit like this, the closer we get to them being used as a full Gestapo force. These fuckers are already murdering bystanders and kidnapping citizens. When they start getting filled with lead by the average American, no one will be surprised.
Cops often deliberately place themselves bodily in front of cars to justify escalation of force.
Calling it now. Official ICE position is going to be:
"We have no idea who this person is, we never heard of them, they probably aren't a real ICE agent, but even if they are this was a totally justified shooting."
