The purplepingaz trials are starting

Regardless of how you feel about Mamdani overall, he does seem to have good political instincts. Actual substantive policy to help tenants in NYC is going to take time, but he doesn't want his constituents to think he's not doing anything about the issue, so doing these little stunts helps keeping it in the public consciousness that he's at least trying to address the issue.

Man if only other politicians could actually do stuff!

I think his statements about foreign policy issues suggest he's not really got great political instincts. Glad to see he's still on message about local issues, but every time he's addressed foreign policy questions it's just been a cavalcade of terrible political instincts.

The solution, then, is to deny his attempts to resign as mayor until he dies of old age

No higher office, only mayor only-throw

To be fair to Mamdani, I think nobody who has ever been NYC mayor has ever gained a federal seat. He will likely only be mayor, so he should either stand in solidarity with the victims of imperialism or hush up.

I wish the DSA would do these Maoist street trials across its other chapters. Most of the landlords and developers here are silently the most evil people in the city.

Theatrics and a righteous cause are a powerful combination. The Liberal's approach of dour, serious NPR speak when talking about Bad Things That Must Change is a proven loser approach that doesn't generate enough political will to actually change the Bad Things.

The Woke Sharia is coming, The Morality Red Guards are about to bust through that door to drag your landlord ass into a street trial lets-fucking-go. Get your pronouns ready, rich boy.

Alright look I'm not gonna call it yet but I am open to considering that maybe I might have been a little harsh on him
