I’ve met Walz a few times, I think he’s a pretty decent person. So of course he has no home in politics. Only evil, unscrupulous people survive in politics these days.
Our government is illegitimate, it desperately needs to just collapse.

I’ve met Walz a few times, I think he’s a pretty decent person. So of course he has no home in politics. Only evil, unscrupulous people survive in politics these days.
Our government is illegitimate, it desperately needs to just collapse.
That's the problem
Decent people won't survive long in US politics, even though it so desperately needs them
We can only hope that the unavoidable incompetence collapse is soon
They never should have reined him in. That and calling Republicans “weird”, but then again tell me one thing that has transpired since the election that isn’t in the interests of wealthy Democratic Party donors.
The Democratic party is useless.
Really disappointed. Walz and his family have been subject of an ugly, horrible, and xenophobic smear campaign and he's a good strong leader that I really admire. I hope that this isn't the end of his career in politics.
One "scandal" and he ~~resigns~~ drops out. Reminds me of Al Franken. The best ones with actual principles fall on the sword. I'm not super opposed so long as the replacement Democrat candidate still wins I guess. But whoever that is will likely be further right which sucks.
It's not even a scandal. Just idiots wanting to punish people based on their own racism
Not resigning, pulling out of the race. He's still governor and will continue to be so.
Thanks for the clarification! That's what I meant but I chose the wrong word.
Hours earlier, there were rumblings that Walz was considering dropping out. Minnesota political analyst Blois Olson claimed the governor was likely to make the decision, adding that Walz recently met with Sen. Amy Klobuchar (D).
As noted in the Axios report, Walz’s administration has come under increased scrutiny due to the welfare scandal plaguing his state. The governor has argued that he has been working to root out fraud, but that hasn’t stopped Republicans — both in his state and across the country — for pouncing on the situation.
I'm assuming Klobuchar helped convince him to drop out. Traditional democrats fold at the slightest fight, but it's a shame that Walz is giving in. Republicans will always be manufacturing some crisis solely so they can exploit it, the only answer is to fight back. Every time you give into terrorists, you're just supporting terrorism.
But unfortunately Walz seems to not have good instincts when the sabotage is coming from inside the house. At the peak of Kamala's campaign when he was knocking it out of the park with "weird" and connecting with voters, Kamala's "we're going with Cheney" team apparently convinced him to dial it down to not alienate the mythical "centrists" that are just republicans in trenchcoats. I expect this move to turn out similarly to how that one turned out.
Your country is so fucking disappointing. my god...
We . . . are aware.
I'm sorry. I sincerely hope things turn around somehow. Citizens United broke everything. I hope that can be fixed.
I honestly think he dropped the ball on this fraud story. I’m still piecing together all the facts but the minute this story broke he should have been all over it.
A lot of the misinformation is coming from people that don’t even live in the state and he could have used this as an opportunity to make the job market a little better for his constituents by actually going after some of the fraud that IS happening and making statements about it.
A lot of the stuff I’m seeing I don’t even know if it’s true or not but it looks REALLY bad on Minnesota.
And yet. The US still has a convicted felon and pedophile as president.
Rapist, grifter, bankrupt, etc
FUCK AMY KLOBUCHAR!!!!!!!!!!!!! JESUS CHRIST I tucking hate that fucking woman. First Tina Smith and now WALZ?!?! Does their moral clarity upset this fucking nepobaby so much that she needs them GONE? Her two biggest agendas are making sure every Palestinian on Earth is myrdered and bird law. Why why why the fuck do people on this state listen to this fucking ghoul?? She has the political instincts of a fucking washcloth. I was at his launch rally and almost booed when she went up to speak. She probably couldn’t fucking wait to sabotage that progressive shit as soon as she could, without putting nothing across her own fucking chest of fucking course. FUCK AMY KLOBUCHAR!!!!
Spelling, Jesus Christ I am so pissed I can’t even type
Klobuchar is such a clown, exact wrong type of politician for this moment. Milquetoast democrats like her will serve the country up to Trump 3 on a silver platter.
It has been claimed that the scene from Veep (great TV show, by the way) where one of the aides describe how they were shaving the VPs legs under the desk for her was inspired by an actual rumor surrounding Amy Klobuchar
So, what now? Is there a socialist candidate the left can vote for instead?
Welp, so much for hope.
why do people care so much about this alleged fraud. we have pedos running our office yo tf
Because R doesn't care about jack shit, but if you run a D campaign it's purity tests all the way down. If he said the wrong thing about Tibet he's fucked, because the "big tent" on the left is fucking stupid and self-cannibalizing.
I'm convinced 10% of the left "tent" is saboteurs screaming these purity tests and 90% of the real left are afraid of looking racist / sexist / whatever, so they go along with stuff they know is bullshit but are scared to say.
Meanwhile, the right then uses those cases to smear and discredit the left.
A fucking pedo lunatic is running the country the only purity test I want to see is are you ready to fucking stand up for people and fight?
Thinking about it, it's probably not a terrible move on his part, overall. Dems can probably retain the governorship and this frees him to do other things. His replacement is probably worse, but it's not like he's retiring (although with how awful people are to him and his family, taking a break might be a good personal move... he has compassion and the attacks on his family probably really hurt).
News of Walz’s decision was reported Monday morning by Axios. The report cited “mounting pressure from fellow Democrats” and “sagging approval ratings” for the two-term governor.
...
But sagging approval ratings and intensified scrutiny into fraud in state programs in recent months has fueled nerves among Democrats and calls for Walz to step aside.
I mean, he's obviously being targeted by MAGAts with a smear campaign, because he had the AUDACITY to run on a ticket against Trump.
Klobuchar threw a binder at his head.
