I prefer his father and his son but if you think about it ,this man ran a country sanctioned much more harshly than apartheid South Africa and even more isolated ,the country had it's biggest allies all die or become Non Interventionist or and this is what mostly happened become enemies ,the isolation and sanction part is still true to this day yet they still manged to survive and develop nuclear powers even though they were in the midst of a horrible famine

and America has not manged to even step foot there

it's also necessary to point that there hasn't been a country more demonized than it in the existence of the world yet it still functions despite all of the nonsense it has to face

A lot of the grossest racism and propaganda from the West was also during his era: 18 hole-in-ones story, his portrayal in Team America, all the stories about how wacky North Korea is (source: Radio Free Asia), etc.

I'm convinced that much of that was consent manufacturing towards a future US war, since the DPRK was on the list of countries the Bush admin wanted to fuck with, I think DPRK and Iran are the only ones that haven't had a regime change since then.

The complete bullshit people wholeheartedly believe about the north shows just how propagandized they are while still thinking theyre above it

My social worker regularly repeats stupid shit about DPRK, it is so frustrating to listen to because I am just trying to get mental health treatment lmao. agony-limitless

It's really fun to have to try to separate people's actual expertise and good advice from their dogshit and racist opinions in everyday life. And people think it is weird why I want to know how they know things.

the reason is nukes btw ,that's it

The other reasons are obvious but the reason for the extra racism and harshness on them is nukes

Because nukes are the only thing genuinely preventing US invasion. And the US (or at least its bourgeois rulers) absolutely hates them for it.

A Member of the workers party of Korea agreed with me on this ,so yes you are pretty much right

He may have been, but from my understanding of democratic centralism this may be giving him too much credit. I suspect that in many of these vanguard parties the General Secretary or equivalent acts mostly as a figurehead, at least to the external world, but internally he may be essentially an executive or merely a functionary for the party.

The parties often engage in a form of pageantry for the outside world, like when former Secretary Hu Jintao was forcibly removed from the party congress in China on video, but internally it's just typical boring-but-necessary administration and debate. Hu could even still be an active party member but it was a signal to the outside world and possibly even non-members in China about the changing direction of the party "under Xi".

Seeing all that has transpired in the last 5 years just makes you appreciate the WPK that much more.
