Crossdressing is one of the most cis hobbies possible, because if it aligns with your gender then it’s not crossdressing.

100% should be a site tagline

This is the kind of logic bomb i love
It’s only crossdressing if gender’s getting crossed. Otherwise, it’s just sparkling getting dressed.
No. Just as there is no action one can undertake that doesn't immediately and irrevocably give all potential partners the ick according to the internet, there is no possible activity you can participate in that doesn't come across as egg coded to someone.
Or it's gay (derogatory) or it's gay (approving)
Everything I do is gay (both) by definition
it is true, I had a hobby once, now I'm a transgender, then I had another hobby that caused me to transition back to the one I started with, I've done this so many times that I actually forgot what I was at first
Rolling up to the game store as a Ranma 1/2 bit
Cis people like football and complaining about minorities. Never seen em do anything else
Cis people are boring
Just because it's true doesn't mean it doesn't hurt our feelings.
It does, but we can be less boring by experimenting with new hobbies
that was what we were talking about, right?
The only socially approved cis male hobbies are Gun, Car, Sport, Guitar, and vidya games about the first 3 of these.
I can't speak for the cis female side because I wasn't socialized as one, though I suspect their number is more.

you forgot alcoholism
Anything that demonstratively makes your life worse (smoking, drinking, gambling) could be in a category.
Thats funny because I know trans girlies with all those hobbies listed
No~✨
If any existed, it would merely be a performance meant distract from the truth.
Everything is secretly transgender.

Funkopop collecting seems to be limited to cis people... With one exception who is on this site but shall not be called out here in order to spare her from further public shaming.
Side note: I wish more trans people were into comic books. More reading instead of collecting. I'd love to have other trans folks I could discuss comics with.
It’s probably just because more people are safer coming out as trans so the catalog of “indicators” is broadening to reflect that phenomenon. Also because they are all alive now they share the zeitgeist with everyone and are tapped in. I just think our pattern-recognizing human brains are looking for patterns, and some people like to use that for humor or something but I wouldn’t really dig much deeper than that
i kinda feel like most pure hobbies are regarded as eccentric, like we're all being pressured to either covert them into "side-hustles" or drop them for something that can be, or find something that is professional development oriented. like there's this pressure around disclosing a hobby to justify it if it's well outside of your "work life."
this opinion goes for hobbies that are outside the generally-approved gender-coded ones like regionally popular or seasonal sports, or ones that dovetail with professional networking and their affinity groups like golf-business or whatever is connected to the profession (i.e. outdoor education w/ rock climbing). there can be a social aspect to hobbies that i think invites some amount of pull into certain groupings, because maybe a group wants to invite more participants.
Going from my parasocial relationships with trans podcasters I think it's very funny when they badger people about being eggs so maybe theyre just messing with the cissies
What are the hobbies your trans friends have said this of?
Warhammer 40k, film photography, model planes, anything really
Honestly, anything can be a trans-coded hobby if you're willing to abstract "thing that people get really into for an extended period of time" to "autistic people are almost definitely the dominant voices in the spaces around this thing" to "autistic people are disproportionately way more likely to be trans" to "therefore, trans people must be a very significant part of the community around this thing" to "therefore, this is a trans-coded hobby". This doubly applies to any hobby that skews younger, where people are way more likely to be out; anything that involves creative expression with which one could vent the pain of existence or whatever; and anything that involves roleplaying/worldbuilding that would let one get fucky with gender roles in a safe space. More broadly this applies to anything that comes across as particularly "nerd shit for social outcasts" compared to other hobbies; for vintage film photography I'm willing to guess there's some element of "lost childhood" to it as well; and if a hobby already has a connotation of being trans-coded it could become a bit of a self-fulfilling prophecy.
Ultimately, though, it's very silly. I wouldn't assume anything about a person's gender based on what hobbies they're into.
40k and HOI4 are the only true (stereotypical) trans hobbies (that applied to me personally)
Pretty much any sport, although american football is becoming more transgender.
counterpoint: roller derby
ok not lesbian sports, so removing softball, roller derby, etc
Summarizing this thread: anything that isnt total nerd shit, but also some things that are total nerd shit.
I can’t say I’ve met many trans Magic: the Gathering players but also I haven’t been to a Magic event in years so maybe that’s changed now.
It has. I know SO many tgirl mtg players
Transform is a mechanic in the game since Innistrad
