Cowbee loves to act like he's not in an echo chamber. All the tankies like him are just currently unemployed dictators. They're like the people who simp for billionaires...just they do it hoping that they'll be in charge when "communism" comes around.
a comment on reddit on a sub recently about voters, and they said tankies(i assume the leftist) dont come out in vote in elections, they just whine and bitch behind the screens, and give excuses. for terrible as they are , conservatives at least come in droves to vote all the time. ,most of the time.

My guess is a lot of them don't live in the US and/or are russian state actors. Putin is playing "divide and conquer" since quite a while now.
That's how you get the impression of high online support and low voting results.
But please don't call them "leftist". Support of Russia and China is authoritarian, the "horseshoe-theorie" is BS. The only thing the left and the right have in common is that they are both heavily targeted by russian propaganda and that's how you get tankies. The best way to think about them is as Russian state propagandist infiltrating left parties to use them for their goals.
(In germany the left party split exactly because of this so now there is a pro Putin "left" (BSW) and right (AfD) Party)

There is one reason I'm here and one reason alone. And that is because Lemmy.ml and allied instances refuse to allow open discussion and criticism of their ideas there. So we have to find another space for it. I suspect I'm not alone.
Want to decrease the popularity of this community? Stop enforcing wrongthink and allow people to discuss your ideas openly. I guarantee you this com would quickly dwindle.
That's exactly it. I disagree with a lot of people in this community. I also disagree with a lot of people on lemmy.ml and the like. The difference is that here at least I can disagree without immediately being banned. It's great that the fediverse allows diversity of thought between different instances, but internally each instance is structured as its own little fiefdom, and lemmy.ml has some questionable leadership.
I do share a concern with these comments though. I never comment here, but I do like laughing at tankie's bullshit sometimes. However, these types of spaces are very easy and often prone to right-wing infiltration. And they can slowly but surely turn into a Nazi bar, and I think this is something to look out for.
Again, I've never comment around here, and I don't always check the comments. I'm not too familiar with the community, but I have seen some concerning things here and there. And in general lately I feel like Lemmy has taken a more centrist right-wing bend. I think we've had another influx from Reddit. I'm not sure, but I am a bit concerned. I might just be overly concerned. Maybe it's my anxiety disorder at play again. Still, I think it's worth keeping an eye on.

reddit was pretty center right since '16, im not surprised. i dint see any ban waves recently from reddit. at least dint notice like the purges early in the year. i think reddit switched to doing more background banning because they realized they are losing too much users/engagement and only the bots are left.
If it helps, I don't think I've run across any obviously right wing comments on Lemmy in a long time, at least not any that haven't been ratioed to hell and back.
Another fun story is c/conservative. It was started by a conservative, iirc, and for reasons I can't fully recall, is now modded by leftists, and the whole community's purpose is calling out conservative nonsense.
The social fabric of Lemmy seems to be very anti-conservative, which is really refreshing for me, at least.
its hard to keep conservatives communities going, without constant propaganda bots, mostly from russia infiltrating it, like on REDDIT, where the conservative subs are mostly run by russian backed mods, and thier propaganda bots. because conservatives need constant drama in order to keep it going. they probably went back to reddit, or to X.

Also funny how US-centric they are with their use of chud terminology. The vile pro-authoritarians can't even imagine a world outside of their US-style fake commie online roleplay.
Talkies worship imperialism, the ultimate expression of the ends justifying means, so it makes sense they'd also be snide cultural imperialists without realizing it. I also really think a lot of them would be improved by being extracted from their basements and set to some yard work

Oh lord. And I thought the right wing chuds were kings of projection. These people genuinely live in an alternate reality. It's equal parts fascinating, sad, and disturbing.
