Yet again Republicans think Democrats are way cooler than they are.

[–] mcqtom@lemmy.world 26 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

The left is totally radical.

[–] kn33@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)
[–] Semi_Hemi_Demigod@lemmy.world 21 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, Trump's already been impeached twice and he got re-elected. So what the hell is Mikey complaining about? Who cares if the president is impeached?

[–] ordnance_qf_17_pounder@reddthat.com 83 points 3 weeks ago (16 children)

Radical left, meaningless term from these cunts. You could be anyone from Obama to Stalin and they'd still use it as an insult.

I'm already voting Democrat, Mike. You don't have to sell it to me.

[–] Flamekebab@piefed.social 62 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Is this "American left wing" in the room with us right now?

[–] hemko@lemmy.dbzer0.com 33 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

In America they've calibrated the political compass with Hitler at 0,0

[–] AstaKask@lemmy.cafe 6 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

People have the weirdest political compasses now. Spoke to a crypto bloke the other day who was emphatic about Nazism being "leftist" ideology.

[–] chatokun@lemmy.dbzer0.com 12 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

That's years old right wing propaganda spread by the likes of Alex Jones for years. They use the 'socialism' in "national socialist" (part of the term Nazi comes from) to argue so, ignoring the fact that anyone can make a name whether or not it's true. If any socialist plans were made by the Nazis, it was of course racist first; only the in group gets any benefit.

These are old ideas that were niche at first but have been moving out into the public as the right shifts the Overton window. Stuff we'd dismiss at ridiculous crazy yelly conspiracy man is now mainstream even with people who might not want to be associated with Jones.

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

Yeah, I love that one. "They have socialist in the name!" So you believe the People's Democratic Republic of Korea is all of those things?

The Nazis have socialist in the name because they joined with socialists in the early days to consolidate power and then they killed the socialists. Who what it they first came for in that poem? The fucking socialists.

[–] TomArrr@lemmy.world 5 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

And every one knows he was a lefty, right?

[–] fantasyocean@lemmy.dbzer0.com 8 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

To the American conservative? "National socialism" is all they need to hear, then they stop thinking

[–] Rothe@piefed.social 9 points 3 weeks ago

American conservatives: "Hitler was a socialist. Also he did nothing wrong".

[–] _Nico198X_@europe.pub 30 points 3 weeks ago (5 children)

there is no "radical left." an enemy that does not exist.

wish there was

[–] lightnsfw@reddthat.com 6 points 3 weeks ago

"Radical left" is the Dems who actually want to do something. Don't worry though there aren't enough of them to get the job done.

[–] rumba@lemmy.zip 5 points 3 weeks ago

By the rest of the world's standards, our left isn't even remotely left.

[–] balsoft@lemmy.ml 4 points 3 weeks ago

I mean, it should. But it doesn't.

If they think it's the radical left advocating for the expected and traditional use of law as written and to it's normal effect, boy howdy have they got another thing coming.

[–] fodor@lemmy.zip 21 points 3 weeks ago

No shit. That guy's in the Epstein Files. How can you not impeach him?

[–] Lucidlethargy@sh.itjust.works 19 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

No matter how radical any republican may think the left could be, the current people in charge are both actively protecting pedophiles, and are, themselves, guilty of abusing children.

Maybe we need some radical left right now, eh? Maybe the child rapists shouldn't be in charge.

[–] Aneb@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago

Well these are the same folks with pedos running their hometown church. Pedophiles run deep in the church I expect them to elect them without thought

can trump even be impeached anymore? as legally, whatever he does isn't a crime?

legally, he's a tyrant and the law protects him.

[–] logi@lemmy.world 4 points 3 weeks ago (2 children)

Impeachment doesn't go through the courts but is entirely a matter for Congress. They can impeach him for anything or nothing as long as they have the votes.

I wouldn't be getting my hopes up.

If there's one thing watching US politics, from Europe these last +20 years, has taught me, then it's this:

Even with a solid majority, the house and senate democrats will be too full of individual self-interests too do anything of the sort.

The democrats need something like the heritage foundation to effectively herd them into a unified collaborating political party.

[–] balsoft@lemmy.ml 11 points 3 weeks ago

Even with a solid majority, the house and senate democrats will be too full of individual self-interests too do anything of the sort.

It's not individual self-interests, it's pretty blatant corruption to protect their donors, the US oligarchs. Any real investigation into republicans will implicate "democrat" billionaires as well.

'Yes! Keep our majority so our supreme leader can skirt around the law.'

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 14 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago)

the boogeyman of the right, the mythical left of the USA. says the PORN(probably gay or trans) obsessed man.

[–] Microtonal_Banana@lemmy.zip 14 points 3 weeks ago

It would be so cool if we really had a radical left instead of the status quo centrists he's actually referring to.

[–] fu@libranet.de 10 points 3 weeks ago

Well you don't even need the RADICAL left to do that.

[–] collapse_already@lemmy.ml 10 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Why are you protecting a known felon, Mike?

Third times the charm?

Not like it matters unless removal.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago
[–] pinheadednightmare@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago

Because he should be.

[–] ZILtoid1991@lemmy.world 8 points 3 weeks ago (4 children)

Issue is, that won't necessarily happen, because a lot of democrats are cowards, and the right knows it. Many on the right calls this move of calling the opposition radicals in this way as a form of "cucking", so it shames some of them into preemptively conceding.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 6 points 3 weeks ago* (last edited 3 weeks ago) (2 children)

Democrat POLITICIANS are cowards, Democratic VOTERS are NOT. They are angry, and they want to go to WAR with MAGA, but our battlefield general is Schmuck Schumer, and he's a smarmy, insipid little bitch, and is more interested in insider trading than being the courageous warrior leader we need. He doesn't care at all who's in charge, as long as he can keep making money. PedoCons are fine with him. He's their best Democrat friend.

AOC needs to primary him, and kick him out of the Senate in humiliating fashion, just like she did to the calcified old fart whose Congressional seat she first took.

because a lot of democrats are cowards

I'd like to entertain the idea that they're not actually cowards, but are either conservative plants, or are otherwise paid/controlled by the conservative agenda.

the radical left

No middle ground, huh?

If you see all world as an enemy, the enemy will be you.

[–] Prior_Industry@lemmy.world 7 points 3 weeks ago (1 children)

Are these radical left in the room with us now?

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 5 points 3 weeks ago

Show me on this doll where the Radical Left touched you...

[–] Ryanmiller70@lemmy.zip 6 points 3 weeks ago

There will just be a Dem Boogeyman for everyone to blame on why the party never does anything like Manchin and Sinema. They always just so happen to find a couple whenever they have a majority so they never have to actually do anything.

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 5 points 3 weeks ago

Don't threaten us with a good time
