Well, I'm so much better off financially than 25 years ago, mostly because I was a child back than...
I knew the internet and social media would change things.
Didn't expect to have the stupidity of humanity laid quite so bare though.
We live in a world where wisdom is more important than ever. You can post two opposing views and get thousands of people agreeing with both sides and sometimes even data to back up both sides. So which do you pick when more people than you'll meet in real life agree with both ends?
It's frighteningly easy to fold yourself into an echo chamber now. And humans are hardwired to like easy.
Naive young me thought that with facts and education so freely and easily available, surely the internet would benefit everyone hugely!
2001 happened and everything went downhill from there
Pretty mid tbh
It was the best of times, it was the worst of times, it was the age of wisdom, it was the age of foolishness, it was the epoch of belief, it was the epoch of incredulity, it was the season of Light, it was the season of Darkness.
In the last 25 years I’ve hit rock bottom and also experienced the happiest moments of my life. Can’t sum it up any better than Dickens.
- I was born, wasn't legally supposed to be born
- immediately cried a lot because 0 Y.O. me realized what life actually was and want my soul to go back to whereever I was before this
- fights with my older brother unfair, he was 5 years older than me, literally spawncamping
- childhood trauma
- moved to another country
- much racism/xenophobia
- no friends
- cry in the corner (this time I'm not a 0 Y.O. anymore so I get bullied a lot for this)
- it was the best of times, it was the worst of time, it was the times of trauma bonding with parents because they showed both love and hate simultaneously

(actually, existing is quite interesting... considering I wasn't even supposed to exist, I have so much stuff I still need to finish watching, so many browser tabs, so many poems, stories I wanna write, can't quit this game yet)
Very varying. It took me from an insecure teen to an insecure teen in an adult body. It also took me from an unemployed and poor dork to an employed dork.

I think it fucking sucked, but I'm also not living in a "bad" country...yet.
Worked out pretty good for me. I spent most of it thinking i'd off myself before this, but things are just fine for now.
Everything somehow keeps get better AND much worse at the same time.
This is not the future we envisioned.

Bruh I was born in 2001, but I'm black enough to tell you that I didn't think of lynchings as a serious concern until Trump got re-elected. But I've never truly been outside Blue territory, so...
Well, I was born into it, so I don't have anything to compare it with. But so far so good, got a degree and a job, so I'm good.
