Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

It would be hilarious if it wasn't so frightening. He wants to make it a criminal offense, punishable by execution, to say anything that makes him look bad

[–] GladiusB@lemmy.world 3 points 3 hours ago

Has he met the Internet?

[–] myfunnyaccountname@lemmy.zip 9 points 19 hours ago

Man. If he thinks this is bad, he should see the Epstein files.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 9 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Oh, the orange snowflake can't stand people discussing his (lack of) ability to do his job? Maybe he should resign then...

[–] FreshParsnip@lemmy.ca 4 points 4 hours ago (1 children)

"I shouldn't be president if I'm not as talented as Jimmy Kimmel"- Donald Trump

[–] MajorasTerribleFate@lemmy.zip 4 points 4 hours ago* (last edited 4 hours ago)

"You shouldn't be, and you're not." -Stephen Colbert responding to that very quote

[–] ExLisper@lemmy.curiana.net 11 points 22 hours ago

I predicted that they will start arresting journalists this year but I didn't realize how weak the entire media in US is. They didn't have to lock anyone up because all the news is controlled by corporations anyway.

[–] HeyThisIsntTheYMCA@lemmy.world 12 points 23 hours ago

Can't believe Piggy is so weak he is hurt by mere words

[–] OhStopYellingAtMe@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (3 children)

Whoever taught him the word “seditious” needs to be smacked. He’s calling everything seditious now.

[–] Insekticus@aussie.zone 4 points 4 hours ago

Words dont mean anything now, thanks to this regime.

[–] Kolanaki@pawb.social 11 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

"Man this place is so seditious. I had to walk around the entire treasonous just to find it!"

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 4 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

"That lemon cheesecake was just seditious, I could eat another slice."

"My diaper is leaking again, I feel seditious running down my leg."

[–] Vupware@lemmy.zip 4 points 19 hours ago

When Trump was tried for Seditious Conspiracy, he learned his first new word in a while.

[–] D_C@sh.itjust.works 3 points 22 hours ago

Wait until it's insurrectioninous. Then the shit will hit the fang, I can tell you.

[–] aramis87@fedia.io 126 points 1 day ago (6 children)

What's interesting to me is that sedition and treason are acts against the state, not any particular representative of the state. But he's clearly thinking he is the state, not just a representative. L'État, c'est moi much?

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 45 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Yeah. He’s made many comments in the past where it’s quite clear he views himself as king, anything he views as against the State is against him, anything he wants is what the State wants.

[–] Typhoon@lemmy.ca 32 points 1 day ago

He also responded to the latest No Kings protest with a video of himself wearing a crown flying a jet and dropping shit on the protesters.

Welcome to personality disorder level narcissism.

[–] sturmblast@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

No one seems to know what either of them mean.

When he bitches like this it means it’s true.

[–] bagsy@lemmy.world 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

He can go fuck himself to hell. This is a free country with free speech and there isnt a damn thing he can do about it.

[–] Ohi@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Just wait....

[–] Blumpkinhead@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

Saggy, overweight, herpe infested traitor accuses others of treason.

Go fuck yourself, you fat orange fuck.

[–] very_well_lost@lemmy.world 42 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Was it treason when he was making shitposts about Biden's health, I wonder?

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

If it wasn't for talking nonsense about Biden's health (and Hillary's too) I'm not sure the the Faux Cinematic Universe even had any other content for certain periods of time...

[–] UnderpantsWeevil@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

I'm sure Trump will smirk at that, knowing Biden had him dead to rights for four long years and never pulled the trigger.

[–] ReallyActuallyFrankenstein@lemmynsfw.com 51 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Two observations:

  1. He always denies more strongly when criticisms are true. This seems to be reflexive, probably stemming from his Roy Cohn, escalate-everything training. So I take this as evidence he has serious health issues.

  2. Whenever he uses words outside his normal vocabulary, it's because someone has used them to him recently. Since reporting has confirmed Bondi is preparing a report on "anti-American" terrorism (presumably at Trump's direction, even if he remembered to send that message privately this time) that Ken Klippenstein has evidence will just be criminalizing opposition, we may actually be approaching the phase of fascism where people are arrested and charged with treason for criticizing Trump.

[–] 4grams@awful.systems 2 points 20 hours ago* (last edited 10 hours ago)

Yes, 100%, I see this too and cannot fathom why it’s not really talked about. This philosophy combined with his ossifying brain explain his complete insanity.

[–] Asafum@feddit.nl 52 points 1 day ago (2 children)

So I guess you and fox news were committing treason daily when talking about Biden day after day during his presidency?

Oh that's right, the rules only apply to other people....

[–] Sterile_Technique@lemmy.world 56 points 1 day ago (2 children)

That's because his health itself is seditious and treasonous. If he'd just hurry up and succumb to his decades-long suicide by cheeseburger, that'd stand out as his one and only act of patriotism.

[–] shittydwarf@piefed.social 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Unlike most Americans he has unlimited access to world class healthcare

The gall of this guy. Go fuck yourself, Pedonald. You are not a king.

To quote you:

QUIET! QUIET, PIGGY!

[–] Shotgun_Alice@lemmy.world 41 points 1 day ago

Oh, his health must be bad then.

[–] TheJesusaurus@sh.itjust.works 29 points 1 day ago

Just tie already

[–] Assassassin@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 day ago

Yeah yeah yeah yeah yeah, just keel over already, we're tired of waiting.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 18 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Is it seditious, perhaps even treasonous, to wish the painful, humiliating death of a traitor?

Asking for a friend.

[–] TomMasz@lemmy.world 20 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Looks like he's learned two new words, his mind is clearly fine.

[–] graycube@lemmy.world 15 points 1 day ago (4 children)

He also learned a poor people word - "groceries". Apparently he never realized that was a thing and is still somewhat perplexed by the idea.

Yeah, he is like a toddler that learns new words and keeps using it them over and over until they get bored.

Poor bastard will try everything to stave off the inevitable until one day the tug on his mortal coil becomes too great and Death himself drags his wretched, calloused soul into eternal oblivion.

spoilerI've got whistle pig ready for that day!

By repeating those words, they're trying to dilute the meaning of them so that previois (and probably future) accusations against them lose some of their weight and importance. If everything is sedition and treason, then nothing is.

[–] SayJess@lemmy.blahaj.zone 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Can’t he, like, keel over already?
