/c/TenForward: Your home-away-from-home for all things Star Trek!

Re-route power to the shields, emit a tachyon pulse through the deflector, and post all the nonsense you want. Within reason of course.

~ 1. No bigotry. This is a Star Trek community. Remember that diversity and coexistence are Star Trek values. Any post/comments that are racist, anti-LGBT, or generally "othering" of a group will result in removal/ban.

~ 2. Keep it civil. Disagreements will happen both on lore and preferences. That's okay! Just don't let it make you forget that the person you are talking to is also a person.

~ 3. Use spoiler tags. Use spoiler tags in comments, and NSFW checkbox for posts.
This applies to any episodes that have dropped within 3 months prior of your posting. After that it's free game.

~ 4. Keep it Trek related. This one is kind of a gimme but keep as on topic as possible.

~ 5. Keep posts to a limit. We all love Star Trek stuff but 3-4 posts in an hour is plenty enough.

~ 6. Try to not repost. Mistakes happen, we get it! But try to not repost anything from within the past 1-2 months.

~ 7. No General AI Art. Posts of simple AI art do not 'inspire jamaharon'

~ 8. No Political Upheaval. Political commentary is allowed, but please keep discussions civil. Read here for our community's expectations.

Fun will now commence.

Is there any reason why Star Wars (edit:films) isn't in the Star Trek universe? If not, somebody probably made a Darth Vader dueling holosuite program.

I don't see why it wouldn't!

Although it would be so old to them that it would be like us making a swordfighting game about Macbeth or something.

Yeah, who would make a simulator game based on a historic period a few hundred years ago. That'd be crazy.

KCD is set in 1403. That's ~600 years ago which is even farther than Vader would be to Data.

Both games are great. If you like difficult games you'll love them. If you get frustrated easily you'll probably hate them.

I haven't played either and I love difficult games to the point that friends think I'm a masochist. (I'm not, just patient)

I'll have to give them a shot.

I hated the combat system. Everything else of what little I played and what I've seen YouTubers play seems appealing.

I was already a big fan of KDC1, playing KDC2 right now.

Star Wars is a long time ago in a galaxy far far away, and Star Trek is in the future.

Because Disney doesn't own Paramount yet

I mean, it’s in “a galaxy far, far away”, and pretty much all of Star Trek takes place in the Milky Way Galaxy - the only time they ever leave is in, true to its name, TNG:”Where No One Has Gone Before”, when the traveller sends them to M-33.

It could be conceivable that anything that happened in Star Wars is just in a very distant part of the universe that would take millions or billions of years for any ship to get from there.

Though honestly, I personally like to imagine that Tom Paris really likes Star Wars, but when he brings it up, everyone thinks it’s just another one of his campy 20th century films.

I mean, it is, isn't it?

Yeah but that was Wesleys fault

I assume it exists as an old film (like it does in our universe, just even older), but the events depicted in the films did not happen. Just like how Star Wars is a film in Stargate.

Here is a list of nods and Easter eggs between the two series, but does not seem to indicate anything about the film or its events occurring in-universe:

Of course it's a warmup, the dude doesn't have any limbs.
