The only war is class war.

[–] SaharaMaleikuhm@feddit.org 10 points 10 hours ago

And we are so much weaker. Guerilla warfare is the only way.

At first I was doubt.jpg, but then I went on the search engines and then found it. While the article is more tame than what the headline + meme portrays - it doesn't advocate to keep the Culture war going, it is advocating for an end to distractions - it's still some liberal bullshit about how "we shouldn't antagonize the rich". I mean, in my case at least, I don't want to antagonize the people behind the riches, but I'm going to point out how they act like imps and goblins every time we try to levy any kind of taxes against their riches, as if the only variable was that they worked hard and that is why they are rich.

Anyway, I cast my vote saying the meme is justified. Carry on.

She is the great granddaughter of J. J. Thomson who got the Nobel prize for the discovery of the electron.

Can you imagine how fucking mediocre one has to be to start their life surrounded by such knowledge, with such an advantage, and not manage to be anything better than a little capitalist lapdog scribbling propaganda in bullshit newspaper .

[–] FlashMobOfOne@lemmy.world 12 points 13 hours ago (1 children)

Dude, this is good info. Thank you for sharing.

[–] TriangleSpecialist@lemmy.world 25 points 12 hours ago

And that's not all, but I wanted to keep it short. The "her life" section on Wikipedia is actually hilarious, I'll paste it here.

Her paternal great-grandfather, J. J. Thomson, was awarded a Nobel prize for the discovery of the electron. Her grandfather, GP Thomson, was awarded the Nobel prize for physics for the discovery of the wave properties of the electron. Her maternal great-grandfather, William Henry Bragg, was awarded, together with his son, William Lawrence Bragg, a Nobel prize for Physics for the analysis of crystal structure by means of X-ray. Alice along with her husband live at Chevithorne Barton, an estate in Devon, which houses the Plant Heritage National Oak collection.

"She has 4 nobel prizes (one joint one) in her family, and she... Has a big house."

Your boss's boss's boss's boss is a high functioning psychopath who wants to acclerate the collapse of civilization so he can buy everything for dirt cheap and sell it for billions while the rest of us starve. I wish that was an exaggeration but it's really not. The people at the top either don't feel empathy or they don't let it influence their decisions

[–] VieuxQueb@lemmy.ca 6 points 10 hours ago

Look her up, she's not far from her boss boss boss's. She is not us.

I literally was just reading that Blackrock bought a bunch of homes for $300k and then immediately sold those house back to themselves for $700k raising the market value of all the houses in the area. Like why the actual fuck is this legal for the rich to scam but when poor people want any income it gets taxed like hell

[–] alias_qr_rainmaker@lemmy.world 11 points 14 hours ago

it's obvious, right? the rich powerful people make laws that benefit rich and powerful people because they just want all their rich friends to like them

[–] Brunbrun6766@lemmy.world 5 points 13 hours ago

Fuck You that's why

according to fox news, i'm a damn dirty hippie commie, but by European standards, I'm a moderate. I just want common sense shit. Higher taxes on those who can afford them, higher minimum wage so less people starve, stronger unions so the regular joes can negotiate with their psychopath bosses who only care about the bottom line.

all that should be obvious, right? nothing revolutionary, just common sense and basic human decency

This may be my dirty classist ways speaking, but if your house has a name on Wikipedia, then maybe you should shut the fuck up about class issues and maybe just jerk off on your dragon hoarde instead.

Imagine writing this and still thinking you're a person

[–] forrgott@lemmy.zip 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Umm, I can't even imagine writing this and thinking, period.

[–] Whostosay@sh.itjust.works 8 points 15 hours ago* (last edited 15 hours ago) (1 children)

It's basically a full on admission that you're pro theft from poor people. How the fuck did she write this and then put her name on it

[–] frostysauce@lemmy.world 1 points 6 hours ago

She's not poor. She didn't care.

I think the one thing the dumbass "abundance" movement gets right is that we don't get progress without realizing that racist and transphobic people also need to be convinced.

Not in the brain dead "well, we need to run some pro life Democrats" kind of way. Obviously.

But, "the left" is too focused on criticizing the masses volnerable to their own stupidity. If we learn one thing from the DemSocs we should learn that "Sewer Socialism" gets you the masses you need.

We need to accept that racist, sexist, and transphobic people also want child care. They also want healthcare. Socialism will not come about once we make everyone lose their bigotries.

The difference is that the left does not have to make concessions to the right as liberals constantly have to. We can and should be strong when trans rights are threatened. But we don't have to use them as a talking point when it's convenient. We can address the material problems that Capitalism causes and notm compromise on our comrades.

The America we live in, doesn't see change without an uneducated racist white guy acting selfishly and following the group that offers his family healthcare.

[–] theneverfox@pawb.social 3 points 10 hours ago

This is so true. Look at Mamdani - he never apologizes for his stances, but all he talks about are freeze rents, free buses, free childcare, and how the rich are going to pay for it

We need to learn to shut the fuck up about praxis and work the material conditions. We need to win and loudly make things better, and win the trust of the common people

We need their trust, not their understanding. And it's enough if they just learn to shut up about their bigotry, even just because every time they bring it up everyone glares at them

[–] Alaik@lemmy.zip 2 points 11 hours ago

Republicans have voted lockstep every election. Democrats cannibalize each other. The end result is the republican party as a whole keeps shifting further right because theyre going to vote as a bloc anyway whereas the left cant even agree that keeping a fascist out of power should be a good start.

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 1 points 11 hours ago

OK, but only if the bigots promise to go vegan. ^/s^

[–] jafra@slrpnk.net 6 points 16 hours ago (1 children)

Well I for one would welcome class war instead of culture war, if the rich don't want to change their ways. Propagating it has to be a war is like "know your place, vermin!"

[–] Alaik@lemmy.zip 1 points 11 hours ago

There's a reason they spend so much time trying to make every race wanna hate the others. If everyone from light peach to ace of spades realized the only color that matters is green.... well, thats not good for them is it?
