Hey I know we dropped a bomb on you but would you mind returning it to me so I can try again? Thanks

Oh okay sure, I wouldn't want to be rude now!
"Uh, please?"
"Will you stop bombing us if we do?"
"Maaaaaayyybe..."
"You're not are you?"
"No."
As if the tech in those bombs is so advanced that the Chinese don't have an equivalent.
Knowing how they work can help developing countermeasures like jamming.
Thats one thing. The materials, surface coatings, and small improvements are all valuable. The literal high temperature parts have close kept technical detail thats otherwise impossible to get at outside espionage or this sort of situation. A few little things gleaned and you've got significant gains for very little investment.
Chinese tech isn't more advanced in every single respect, and even if it were in this case that doesn't mean they don't have anything to learn about particular functions for creating countermeasures.
A bargaining chip is only useful if you own it.
Say you'll keep it as long as you don't get bombed any further, and say you'll give it straight to China the moment the next bomb hits the ground.
"Aw, c'mon, you gotta give us our missile back. We can't bear the thought of China seeing our advanced technology"
Meanwhile, Xi reviews details of the 'advanced weapon'
read it as "LeBron" and was so confused.
They probably will though sadly. Bullying by the US works. They did the same to Pakistan with their stealth helicopters that went down in the Bin Laden raid.
