I am having a small Thanksgiving tomorrow with close family, I do not envy any USAmerican hexbears who still get invited to large events because your racist relatives are going to have fun talking about this racistly.

Headline changed recently to:

The Governor just changed his statement to say that they might not actually be dead.
Also the headline was changed back to not say dead anymore. now it is back to saying "shot"
Live law enforcement press conference just said that the National Guard who were shot are currently at the hospital. Presumably this means they are not dead.

~~The 2 National Guardsmen are dead.~~ That was from a Bluesky post by a journo had a screengrab of a tweet by the governor of West Virginia that's at least 60 minute old. Everybody on Bluesky is fucking like farming as fast as they can. I hate that!
If they are dead then fuck CNN.
It was only the WV Governor who said that they were dead and then he retracted the statement. That is why that the news sites are changing it back to not dead. Also the Cop Press conference said that they are at the hospital. Really I blame the WV Governor for making unsubstantiated statements.

Nixon had prepared remarks in the case the Apollo 11 moon landing ended in tragedy. I wonder if Pritzker has a similar plan. He's media savvy and he knows that after a traumatic event - on social media every single minute counts and you don't want the tiniest mistake to creep in as you rush to make a statement. I wonder if his speechwriters got a few rough drafts ready for his first social media post he'll make after the first Gestapo-related shooting deaths in his state.
