how many decades has the US been trying to overthrow the Cuban government unsuccessfully?

articles like this are as laughable as the articles about China's impending economic crash, excepting that you can guarantee the US is doing its best to coup Cuba

Kind of tough to escape misery when the giant imperialist neighbor to the north has had sanctions on you for decades.

"Why are you so poor?" I ask my neighbor who I've been robbing weekly for decades

This rag, where the editors all hide behind anonymous bylines (and when they do reveal themselves, they predictably turn out to be ghouls like the failson of a MI6 director), has been consistently on the wrong side of history since its inception. Its founder got his wealth from the opium trade and the Economist defended and advocated for both Opium Wars along with vocally supporting the Confederacy. And those are just merely listing the things that Marx himself denounced them for. Proving their talent of writing cowardly anonymized depraved trash transcend both time and genre, their book review section includes shamelessly scolding scholars for writing books about the history of slavery where, for some reason, "almost all the blacks in his book are victims, almost all the whites villains."

Did you see all those empty homes in China? The economy is going to tank any day now

Nobody does projection like the mouthpiece of British billionaires

Look, regime change never works. Just look at what happened to Russia or Iran! Instead, we should pursue softer methods of change. For instance, the Cuban regime can currently blame any and all economic hardship on the blockade and sanctions enforced by the US. If we just drop those, they'll no longer be able to deflect, and the average citizens will see that neoliberalism is the best way to structure society through debate in the marketplace of ideas!

Regime change actually works pretty often, like Chile or Ukraine. Don't underestimate our enemies.

I think this was Obama's actual reasoning for lifting some of the sanctions on Cuba. Not to argue against it, it was one of his best policies and whatever they need to tell themselves to help Cuba, I'll take it. So dumb that Biden didn't do it until the last week or something like that.

Rinse and repeat the same story they've been telling since 1959.

I would try exchanging Dengist style reform for full and complete embargo lift. I would refuse to discuss this with anyone except Trump directly and sell it to him as absolutely incredible to end something that has exist for so long, since the missile crisis! Very good. Very prestige. Yuge. Tell him you'll recognise "Gulf of America" too maybe, it's just a fucking name you can recognise something else later when he's gone lol.

If they're not willing to do that. Guns and ammo, lots of it.
