made this yesterday, I can't be the only person who likes egg on a burger.

For posting satire from The Onion and other similar sources.

Be nice. All instance rules apply.
Fried egg on burger is amazing.
It's delicious
I love it. Don't let it soak into the bun though, that just makes the bread soggy. Instead, I put it between the patty and the lettuce or something.
Pro tip: Bottom bun -> mayo -> lettuce -> meat -> cheese/bacon/whatever -> onion -> tomato, pickle (optional) mustard (and if you are taste challenged, ketchup, bless your heart) -> top bun.
The mayo and lettuce on the bottom shields the lower bun from juices.
I usually put the lettuce above the patty, but maybe having it below would help with the juices. Thanks for the tip!
Loving all these burger tips, I'll be changing up my condiment order for sure next time.
It's a staple in Australia, a lot of independent cafes will do it as standard. Nothing better than runny yolk mixing in with beef pattie.
Add some beetroot for a bit of tartness
100% there were pickled beets in there ;)
I like to get a bacon cheeseburger with an egg and call it "the whole barnyard."
While I appreciate an egg, I've never fully understood why people put toppings under the patty.
Yeah, I always put them on top, but I think I'm converted to lettuce on bottom to prevent the bun from getting soggy. My burgers are juicy and even with a well toasted bun with mayo, it can still get soggy.
I hope there are systems in place to get this man the help he needs.
Friend Egg with slightly runny yolk + Bacon on a burger is amazing. 🤌🏽
One of the best choices.i love runny eggs on a burger, and add bacon, chef's kiss.
I'm probably a kill-joy in my middle age, but this just reeks of 2012 era smash burgers that are impossible to fit in your mouth whose only purpose is to be photographed for social media.
Feel free to down vote. I know I'm no fun.
This isn’t satire! This is straight facts.
+1
Sunny side up is too runny for this application, I prefer the egg fried hard on a burger, but failing that at least give it a flip and a few seconds.
Over easy, with just enough time to make the yolk about the same viscosity as the condiment sauces.
This person burgers.
Finally found someone who agrees with me!!! I hate drippy burgers about as much as the skyscraper height 1000 topping ones.
Runny is the point though. Pair it with something pickled so the acid can counter the fattiness a bit, and you've got some great variety of textures. I'm not a sunny side up person though, so I'll do over easy and try to sneak in a little crunch on the edges (flirt with over medium, but don't let it go too far).
If you like over hard, do the classic fried egg where you slightly scramble the yolk so it's present everywhere on the egg. If you do the classic over hard with an in-tact yolk, you won't get yolk in every bite.
I dunno, my local burger joint makes a pretty damn good breakfast burger, egg included.
Who puts a potentially runny egg on a burger without protecting the bun with a layer of mayo and lettuce? These are rookie mistakes.
In brazil lots of places will have ham, egg, and corn on a burger and it's such a good combo.
Double the egg, double the fun? (I assume you meant bacon or something :P)
whoops, that's what i get for posting distracted, meant corn of all things. fixed it ty.
I once had a burger with egg, peanut butter, and a pretzel bun. It was sort of all the weird but mostly okay burger ingredients. It was good, shockingly, but definitely not an everyday thing.
I've only had egg on a burger once and it was good, but not so good I feel the need to have egg on every burger.
What needs to be on every burger is a burbon glaze and blue cheese crumbles. 🤤
