Only serving 6 month sentence out of a 10 year sentence? How did he get off that easily?

Rich and powerful men are allowed to abuse children as they see fit. Even this much we're lucky to get

[–] ChonkyOwlbear@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago (1 children)

But 9 and a half years on probation. That's a long time not to be able to leave the state without permission and to have to take random piss tests.

[–] Crashumbc@lemmy.world 10 points 6 months ago

That's some joke I'm missing? /S?

KidFucker in Chief mote it be

[–] Cold_Brew_Enema@lemmy.world 4 points 6 months ago

If he got off that easy there must have been a kid around

I automatically assume all hyper religious public figures are either pedophiles, are with a group that turns out to have a history of abuse, or are covering for pedos.

[–] Killer57@lemmy.ca 3 points 6 months ago

When the Statistics show about 1/6 can't say I'm too surprised about how many religious people are.

Always the ones you most suspect.

Oh good. I don't have to worry about Dolly Parton, or Mr Rodgers.

I feel like my world view would be crushed if I ever saw a legitimate claim against either of them.

I had a β€œChristian” ask me why I don’t rape and kill people if I don’t believe in god…..I said β€œbecause I don’t want to to do anything like that and if this world is the only world wouldn’t I want to make it as good as possible starting with my own actions” I think about that conversation a lot lately and it is deeply concerning

[–] CosmicTurtle0@lemmy.dbzer0.com 15 points 6 months ago

I like Penn Gillette's response to this question which is just as good:

"I've raped and killed all the people I've wanted to."

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 9 points 6 months ago

I had a flipped conversation. Working IT, late at a client's office, the secretary (we knew each other well enough) stated that without the Bible we couldn't know right from wrong.

"Um, I don't need religion to tell me rape and murder is wrong. Do you? I mean, think on that, did you have to be told?"

I'm sure I got a bit of that wrong, but that was the gist of it, and it was that short. She sat back in her chair and stared at me a minute. One of those oh-so-rare times in life when you hit someone with a brand new thought. Love to see it, love to experience it!

You mean a Child Rapist had Direct Access to the Republican Party which is ACTIVELY SHUTTING DOWN THE GOVERNMENT TO PROTECT JEFFREY EPSTEIN AND HIS CHILD RAPING ASSOCIATES? What a weird Coincidence! Anyways DEMONRATS are Raping Children in Pizza Parlors!

My copy of the surprised Pikachu meme is broken.

[–] MyNameIsIgglePiggle@sh.itjust.works 3 points 6 months ago* (last edited 6 months ago)

Meanwhile my unfazed Pikachu meme is working perfectly

[–] VeryVito@lemmy.ml 13 points 6 months ago

Anyone surprised by this? The people screaming about immorality are ALWAYS those engaged deepest in it.

[–] HikingVet@lemmy.ca 13 points 6 months ago (1 children)

What are the odds on Drumpf stepping in?

[–] RustyShackleford@lemmy.zip 13 points 6 months ago

How do you think they celebrated Trump hiring Morris.

[–] manxu@piefed.social 13 points 6 months ago (1 children)

I am very positively surprised that the prosecutors in Oklahoma didn't let this drop. The temptation might have been huge: the statute of limitations had long expired and they revived the case with an old law that pauses the clock on the statute.

This guy is still trying to get his huge pension back. After ruining a child's life.

[–] tyler@programming.dev 13 points 6 months ago

The statute of limitations didn’t expire, which is detailed in the article. He left the state so the statute of limitations freezes

[–] selkiesidhe@sh.itjust.works 10 points 6 months ago

Gateway to pedophilia.

Gateway to childhood trauma.

And ofc the Pedo-in-Chief protects his own ilk (until he needs to trash them to make himself look good or to keep himself out of trouble)

[–] pelespirit@sh.itjust.works 10 points 6 months ago

Was this the one that said it happened a long time ago and everyone prayed about it? I didn't realize he had the largest church in America.

I believe in the family

But she don't know about my girlfriend

Or the man I met last night

It's so well known and pervasive I can ask my conservative 'friend' "what do you think the founder of Gateway just pleaded guilty to?" And with no prior knowledge he knows what he did and can become defensive.

I almost wanted to do a switch too and tell him he actually pleaded guilty of fraud.

[–] motor_spirit@lemmy.world 3 points 6 months ago

ah, another one

Very curious that statistics don't seem to matter when it comes to white men sexually abusing children, or gun violence

[–] fluffykittycat@slrpnk.net 3 points 6 months ago (1 children)

These cases all just blend together. At this point you should just expect these types to be abusive and you'll be right more often than your own. I guess he'll have to go on the list, Part 57
