When have Americans ever cared about a school shooting for more than a few hours?

This is what I was telling people. Almost no one becomes a martyr. And certainly not someone like Kirk.

[–] Meltyheartlove@hexbear.net 31 points 2 days ago

Alex hitler jones still cries in his car over kirk everyday youre-laughing

no longer the Current Thing

I've seen one (1) We Are All Charlie flag on a house in my neighborhood, but it just doesn't seem like a salient or lasting grievance. Mainstream MAGAs only made knew him from seeing him on Fox News once in a while, as far as I can tell. The Kirkening can't be a sustainable outrage if a propagandist getting killed in public is given the same level of intensity as Cracker Barrel changing their logo, or a trans woman being on a Bud Light can, or the M&M's not being fuckable.

[–] CleverOleg@hexbear.net 11 points 2 days ago

There’s a mom at my kid’s school who wears a Charlie Kirk shirt every other day. She wears Trump shirts otherwise so pretty sure it’s just a signaling thing for her. Otherwise I have seen or heard absolutely nothing IRL about him

[–] CatsPajamas@lemmy.dbzer0.com 2 points 1 day ago

A neighbor's work truck had that written on the back of it for like three days lol. Must've learned more about him.

But apparently Tim Pool is STILL talking about it

[–] DrMartinu@lemmy.dbzer0.com 1 points 2 days ago (2 children)

The same Tim Pool that was caught getting paid by Russia to shill russian talking points? Wonder who's paying him now

[–] Skye@hexbear.net 47 points 2 days ago (1 children)

EWWW, allegedly getting paid partially by R-R-RUSSIA?! Instead of being a wholesome patriotic nazi who only gets paid by fascist Americans and billionaries? How could they sink so low?!

[–] SmithrunHills@hexbear.net 32 points 2 days ago

Thank goodness for patriotic lobbies like AIPAC lancer-silly

[–] XxFemboy_Stalin_420_69xX@hexbear.net 28 points 2 days ago (2 children)

why is it so hard for liberals to shut the fuck up about russia for even just 5 minutes

[–] Evilsandwichman@hexbear.net 16 points 2 days ago (1 children)

By Russia do you mean RuSSia run by Putler of RuSSia? The world is run by big RuSSia I'll have you know!

Turbolib Standard English is the Maoist analog to white people cribbing AAVE to look cool.

Because if they did they couldnt ensure their sense of supremacy and chauvinism. America and Americans isnt bad its those dastardly outsiders that infected our "volkskörper" and made it bad, so the problem lies entirely outside the "inherently" american.

Of course this is the reason liberalism carries the kernel of fascism and why liberalism is the lowest stage of genocidal fascism.

Charlie Kirk: forget soon after

[–] GeckoChamber@hexbear.net 28 points 2 days ago

To be fair, he's not up to much these days

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 27 points 2 days ago (2 children)

the real funny is going to come on the anniversary

[–] CleverOleg@hexbear.net 8 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

October 14th (so in less than 2 weeks) is going to be funny because that’s the official, federally recognized day of remembrance for Kirk. The far right nuts will try to make so much hay out of it but everyone else (including the overwhelming majority of normies) will be just like “I thought we were done with all that”

[–] purpleworm@hexbear.net 14 points 2 days ago (2 children)

Do you mean in a Unite the Right 2 sort of way?

[–] Awoo@hexbear.net 19 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The first one everyone's gonna forget except for a handful of people followed by the copycats, the majority of people that remember will be taking the piss. The second anniversary will be nothing except people joking about it. The third one will be people celebrating. It will become a yearly joke.

When other conservatives start dying people will make mashups of them outside the gates of heaven.

I have to wonder how much of it was because of the south park mention in the banned episode.

[–] SkingradGuard@hexbear.net 15 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The government banned an episode? Lmao

[–] MarxOverflow@lemmygrad.ml 13 points 2 days ago

I don't know who banned it, but it is banned. Was stupidly funny, it had a passing referenced the search term. Had some awesome ice commentary

[–] tane@lemy.lol 4 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They banned it off of Hulu but not paramount plus or something, just incoherent

[–] ephemeral@hexbear.net 4 points 2 days ago

they stopped airing reruns of the episode on comedy central. calling it a ban is kind of a stretch but a cowardly move nonetheless. Kirk himself said he liked the episode

more liek Hardly Worked
