This fascist waste of skin & oxygen just cost Georgia about $4b in foreign investment.

[–] RememberTheApollo_@lemmy.world 30 points 6 days ago (1 children)

They were training Americans to do those jobs. That’s why they were there. She just f’ked the area out of manufacturing jobs.

[–] Hanrahan@lemmy.world 0 points 6 days ago

Well sure but to be fair they didn't have the correct visas. Most countries are anal about non citizens having the correct visas, especially while working illegally.

[–] JTskulk@lemmy.world 22 points 6 days ago

She doesn't care if Hyundai goes out of business because they don't manufacture her mobility scooter.

[–] Tenthrow@lemmy.world 1 points 3 days ago

What is the American flag emoji covering her hand on the right picture about?

[–] Dorkyd68@lemmy.world 11 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

Gross. Why are maga dorks attracted to these types? They're just so fake and plastic looking. Fake blonde hair and fake tits haven't been in since 1999

[–] Underwaterbob@sh.itjust.works 1 points 6 days ago

You don't mess with Korean netizens.

“So MAGA wanted tariffs to bring manufacturing back to the US. But when a company tries to open a plant here, MAGA undermines it. Once again you proved what an embarrassment your party is to our country,” a user wrote under one of Branum’s Instagram posts.

Branum’s Instagram has since been set to private.

I don't mind the leopards eating HER face, but why do all her would-be constituients have to suffer for her racist idiocy? MAGA or not, people want that factory to run smoothly.

[–] SebaDC@discuss.tchncs.de 86 points 1 week ago (1 children)

It's more that it shows the idiocy of the current government.

All those new plants will need foreign workers. Farmers need foreign workers. Big city delis need foreign workers.

But they're dead set on making the USA dangerous for foreigners.

Well... They can go suck a $10 egg.

[–] danekrae@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (6 children)

They don't need foreign workers, just wage slavery... Or better yet just slavery.

All they need to do is expand the law that makes it legal to use inmates as slaves.

Edit: I know that it's happening already. That's in the second half of my comment? Is my english that bad? The key word is expand!

[–] Kingcong@sh.itjust.works 20 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I think that already exists. Companies in some states can hire inmates to work for 10s of cents to a few dollars an hour. That is basically slavery wages

[–] homesweethomeMrL@lemmy.world 3 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That's the prison industrial complex. Legal slavery.

Some prisons force workers to work at fast food places my dude

[–] Geodad@lemmy.world 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

What happens if prisoners refuse to work?

[–] PalmTreeIsBestTree@lemmy.world 6 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

You lose privileges and won’t be able to afford basic necessities like toothpaste or toilet paper.

[–] Geodad@lemmy.world 3 points 6 days ago (1 children)

That's dystopian as fuck.

Note to self: Don't let the cops take you alive.

Capitalism + Slavery = American prison system

Those Korean workers in that factory under construction were knowledge workers. Good luck getting a battery factory up and running with random bunch of inmates.

[–] db2@lemmy.world 7 points 1 week ago

They can already use minors for unpaid labor that way. And I don't mean community service.

[–] roofuskit@lemmy.world 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

That law is the US constitution.

Uh, that already exists. A large part of “Made in USA” is slave prison labour.

Her potential voters have to suffer for her racist idiocy because that was the choice she made. Her beliefs, her decisions, and her actions took options away from a lot of people. That's the job she's applying for, one in which she makes those kinds of decisions for about 800k people. I wouldn't hire her.

[–] stoy@lemmy.zip 62 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I served this country and I’ll go down with the ship before someone silences me.

That's fine, but you don't have to drill holes in the bottom of the ship just to get to your last stand quicker.

[–] LiveLM@lemmy.zip 4 points 6 days ago

before someone silences me

Might not want to say that out loud given recent events...

Right, it isn't honorable to go down with the ship when you're the one causing it to sink.

Maybe she should go on a college speaking tour.

[–] TheBat@lemmy.world 46 points 1 week ago (2 children)

I hope Hyundai expands their operations in India. That would be a boost for our employment.

[–] mp3@lemmy.ca 33 points 1 week ago

Canada would be fine too.

[–] hddsx@lemmy.ca 9 points 1 week ago (5 children)

It is very early in the morning so my memory may be effected, but if i recall correctly, you need to manufacture cars in the US because with little exception, foreign produced cars are subject to the chicken tax.

Adding Trumps tariffs may lead to foreign manufactured Hyundais being unaffordable for Americans. And, as much as I criticize Hyundai and subsidiaries, they did jump into the EV game pretty early. It would be a shame to lose them in the US market

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Or they can just say fuck the US and it's fascist banana republic sham of a government.

[–] hddsx@lemmy.ca 6 points 1 week ago (1 children)

100% the only people losing are the American people so, yeah. I would pull out of the US market if I was in charge

[–] Niquarl@lemmy.ml 1 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Yeah but it's business and Americans have money. Isn't like 20% of worldwide consumer consumption from Americans still?

[–] hddsx@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

I’m not sure about 20% but with stagnant wages, Americans will eventually not be able to afford things. One of the first things to be cut will be items priced more than they’re worth (ie. Tariff + tariff)

[–] Niquarl@lemmy.ml 1 points 2 days ago

Yeah but that's in the future and nowadays it's always quarter peogitz companies look for

She's a marine?

Jesus . . . what . . . nevermind.

[–] Lemmyoutofhere@lemmy.ca 34 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I think she ate ALL the crayons.

[–] dream_weasel@sh.itjust.works 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Idk, that could be makeup.

She ate the crayons?

[–] Tar_alcaran@sh.itjust.works 28 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago) (2 children)

Former marine. And let me point out every branch has admin and support staff too.

[–] captainlezbian@lemmy.world 16 points 6 days ago

Also it's really easy to get fat going from high activity lifestyle to none. If you're 200lbs and muscular as all hell it's way easier to stop being muscular than to stop being 200lbs

[–] architect@thelemmy.club 3 points 6 days ago

More like 👄🍆

[–] NABDad@lemmy.world 39 points 1 week ago

When ideology replaces logic, people suffer.

[–] barnaclebutt@lemmy.world 37 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Ugh, all those filters and Photoshop and that's the best she could do?

[–] MeatPilot@lemmy.world 17 points 1 week ago

Same smile, hide the pain Karen?

[–] inclementimmigrant@lemmy.world 37 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

Hey, who am I to stand in the way of Georgia massively fucking over it's local economy by letting discount Bandi Maxx here run Georgia Productions?

It's what they deserve after all and hopefully it'll deter all companies to stop investing into white supremacy.

[–] psycho_driver@lemmy.world 12 points 1 week ago

Is that ICE Karen or the creature that ate her?
