Whenever libs get a chance to be racist or homophobic, they go nuts for it. Nothing they like more. They are perpetually jealous of how mask off nazis are with their racism and wish they have the confidence to do that too.

I don't think most of the people in this video are actually this virulently racist and are just hiding it or anything like that. Mostly just people trying to get in on a meme. The problem, and this is my problem with the internet in general, is that most people, up to and including your favorite creators, are not funny. And a joke that's not funny is not a joke. And a racism joke that's not funny is just racism.

If you read this in any way as condoning or excusing this behavior, you're wrong.

lmao you have to be kidding me. I thought based on your comment it might be something more tame but no this is like Klan level cracker racism wtf are you talking about?

You contradict yourself in your own post

And a joke that's not funny is not a joke. And a racism joke that's not funny is just racism.

I'm sorry, but then you completely misinterpreted my comment. I fully agree that what is shown in this video is just overt racism with the slurs switched. My comment was to say I don't think all of those people were just happy to get to express their deeply held racist views, they just aren't very funny and the best 'joke' they could think of was turning the racism up more and more.

I did read your comment and I disagreed with the thing I literally quoted. These people are actually this virulently racist. The way you worded that led me to think I was going to see something much more grey or questionable than I did, but no it was straight up Nazi/KKK level racism and you are being far too generous.

The way you worded that led me to think I was going to see something much more grey or questionable than I did

Again, I'm sorry, but I thought the term 'virulently racist' made it clear that the content was in no way gray. I genuinely do not know how I could make it clearer.

Perhaps you're right and I am being to generous, but I generally think of people as stupid and unfunny before hateful.

[–] NephewAlphaBravo@hexbear.net 11 points 7 months ago* (last edited 7 months ago) (2 children)

it's absolutely possible for people to be hideously racist by simply absorbing the ambience of this cursed country and never questioning it. conscious purposeful malice isn't required for that

and even that is probably too generous, plenty of this shit is people jumping at the chance to spew Diet Slurs in public because they're just itching for some mysterious reason

The caucasian urge to say the n-word.

I erroneously implied that I think think that none of the people are that racist, my mistake and I apologize. However I maintain that a large glut of these are just stupid 20 somethings that need to be taught to know better.

[–] Nakoichi@hexbear.net 4 points 7 months ago (1 children)

Oh no these people and this content is quite clearly virulently and hatefully racist and I have no clue how you could perceive it any other way.

[–] KnilAdlez@hexbear.net 6 points 7 months ago

I fully agree the content is horribly racist, but I just don't necessarily agree that all of those 20 year olds making those videos are actually that racist. I think they are stupid. Really stupid. And too privileged to have more than an abstract concept of what they're actually doing. They deserve to get hit in the mouth, but I'm not going to write them off completely for being unfunny and stupid.

There has always been this latent racism among internet nerds. You have the people who incorporate racism into RPG games like Warhammer. The "humanity, fuck yeah!" thing where humanity means white people and orcs/demons/whatever are the swarthy hoard that must be defeated. I remember a lot of people liking the Animatrix where angry humans beat up the robot lady because another robot killed a human. It becomes that same race dichotomy where white people freely get to murder the other in righteous anger.

These days subtext is dead so they can't even stick to the analogy. They can't just be in on the "joke" in a coy way, they have to telegraph the punchline from miles away.

I remember a lot of people liking the Animatrix where angry humans beat up the robot lady because another robot killed a human.

The entire short was like (at first) a very explicit stand in for civil rights, at the trial its even highlighted as such.

Anyway Animatrix is also intended to be distorted since it is the history written by the robots to justify the matrix system, like erasing the fate of the human sympathizers and the therefore highlighting the brutally as a constant factor. Matrix as a franchise isnt a communist one that applies dialectic materialism.

That scene with the female robot was in response to the Million Machine March (literally the Million Man March and Los Angeles riot).

Behind closed doors, in front of a monitor, they'll drop the coded language and get straight to business in online spaces via voice chat.

Like why. Why not just drop the act and get to the point, they know their damn kkkraker ass will, at most, get a slap on the wrist.

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 5 points 7 months ago

They are getting more bold again, the conditions are just shifting from "we cant say that out loud anymore" to "yes we can now". The "woke" DEI era was still one of white supremacy which in the end did treat non-white cultures & peoples as fetish objects and trends.

I'm afraid I must say something I never thought I would say... We must critically ally ourselves with the CIS against racism. I never thought this would be happening, but it is. /j

Completely agree with the video. Never give an Amerikkkan an excuse to be racist. /srs

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 4 points 7 months ago

CIS was very contradictory, because the writers intended for it to be a genuine anti-imperialist/localist/redistributionist movement that was secretly controlled by the executive council of the megacoperations, with the separatist parliament being eventually subsumed.

Kinda to mirror what happened to the republic.

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 11 points 7 months ago

The racism in that blew my fucking face off.

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 7 months ago (1 children)

People once thought it was weird when I said that in the american psychological context robots are black people and that the fear of robot uprising is a mélange of enslaved (and also communist) uprisings brought on by the Haitian revolution.

I mean robot is czech for slave, and in the original fiction novel it was a story about the working class fearing being dehumanized into just their labour.

[–] Horse@lemmygrad.ml 10 points 7 months ago

jesus, they did just larp jim crow shit but for robots
