There has always been this latent racism among internet nerds. You have the people who incorporate racism into RPG games like Warhammer. The "humanity, fuck yeah!" thing where humanity means white people and orcs/demons/whatever are the swarthy hoard that must be defeated. I remember a lot of people liking the Animatrix where angry humans beat up the robot lady because another robot killed a human. It becomes that same race dichotomy where white people freely get to murder the other in righteous anger.

These days subtext is dead so they can't even stick to the analogy. They can't just be in on the "joke" in a coy way, they have to telegraph the punchline from miles away.

I remember a lot of people liking the Animatrix where angry humans beat up the robot lady because another robot killed a human.

The entire short was like (at first) a very explicit stand in for civil rights, at the trial its even highlighted as such.

Anyway Animatrix is also intended to be distorted since it is the history written by the robots to justify the matrix system, like erasing the fate of the human sympathizers and the therefore highlighting the brutally as a constant factor. Matrix as a franchise isnt a communist one that applies dialectic materialism.

That scene with the female robot was in response to the Million Machine March (literally the Million Man March and Los Angeles riot).
