Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Babbitt, 35, was ~~an Air Force veteran~~ a domestic terrorist who was ~~fatally shot~~ heroically stopped by Capitol police while ~~protesting~~ participating in a violent seige of the capital insighted by Donald Trump the felon, and child rapist, after his defeat in the 2020 presidential election.

The media needs to stop sugar coating the events of Jan. 6.

They gotta deep throat the fascist regime so that they keep getting invited to the press events and thus keep making those shiny dollars.

Yes, it is pathetic.

So, what? Are they going to exhume her traitor ass and then rebury it? Or did her traitor family just keep her traitor carcass on ice for the last 4 years? Either way, fucking disgusting.

Just build a memorial outhouse over the grave.

I'll settle for head on a pike. So I can look up into her lifeless eyes and wave, like this:

[–] SereneSadie@lemmy.myserv.one 7 points 1 month ago

I've been wary of posting this exact line myself about unfortunately still alive people. I guess there's less potential for trouble when it's a dead insurrectionist.

Nice B5 reference.

After attacking the capitol, in direct violation of the oath she swore to defend the country and constitution, what she should be given is a posthumous dishonorable discharge. This is fucking disgusting.

Don't look up!

[–] DarkFuture@lemmy.world 19 points 1 month ago

Go ahead. She still died gurgling through a hole in her neck. Surrounded by a bunch of neckbeard traitors filming her for internet points.

That's all I care about.

This only shames the military, which I'm also alright with.

[–] Lexam@lemmy.world 17 points 1 month ago

Did she accept?

[–] aesthelete@lemmy.world 16 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago) (1 children)

Haven't they already buried this bitch? She's been dead for nearly half a decade.

They really going to dig her up and give her another funeral or something?

This country is chock full of performative fucking idiots.

[–] BarneyPiccolo@lemmy.today 4 points 1 month ago

Let them have their grotesque parade. It's all being recorded for history.

[–] AllNewTypeFace@leminal.space 16 points 1 month ago

They should also write a heroic ballad about her to the tune of the Horst Wessel Lied and make it the official anthem of the Republican Party.

[–] otter@lemmy.dbzer0.com 14 points 1 month ago

Fucking dog whistle bullshit.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 11 points 1 month ago

That casket is going to smell like piss.

[–] tanisnikana@lemmy.world 10 points 1 month ago* (last edited 1 month ago)

This is exactly the thing that this dictatorship would do to cause as much pain and distress as possible.

Can't EO that woman back to life though.

[–] Nougat@fedia.io 5 points 1 month ago

Where's Fred Phelps when you really need him?

[–] marsza@lemmy.cafe 5 points 1 month ago

More like her need to drop dead

I guess this community doesn't like links to the likes of blogs for top-level stories, but I'll put this link here. Wonkette is actually very good at pulling together lots of relevant links and so on. I happen to loooove the snarky commentary they use as well, although I realize that's not everyone's cuppa.

@CharlesDarwin The best response probably is to ignore.
