State may lose its $69 Trillion "investment" if it shuts down its orphan-crushing machine
Quite the headline you've got there.
The taxpayers are on the hook for this dumbass bullshit anyway, may as well skip the crimes against humanity.
Welcome to the News community!
Rules:
1. Be civil
Attack the argument, not the person. No racism/sexism/bigotry. Good faith argumentation only. This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban. Do not respond to rule-breaking content; report it and move on.
2. All posts should contain a source (url) that is as reliable and unbiased as possible and must only contain one link.
Obvious biased sources will be removed at the mods’ discretion. Supporting links can be added in comments or posted separately but not to the post body. Sources may be checked for reliability using Wikipedia, MBFC, AdFontes, GroundNews, etc.
3. No bots, spam or self-promotion.
Only approved bots, which follow the guidelines for bots set by the instance, are allowed.
4. Post titles should be the same as the article used as source. Clickbait titles may be removed.
Posts which titles don’t match the source may be removed. If the site changed their headline, we may ask you to update the post title. Clickbait titles use hyperbolic language and do not accurately describe the article content. When necessary, post titles may be edited, clearly marked with [brackets], but may never be used to editorialize or comment on the content.
5. Only recent news is allowed.
Posts must be news from the most recent 30 days.
6. All posts must be news articles.
No opinion pieces, Listicles, editorials, videos, blogs, press releases, or celebrity gossip will be allowed. All posts will be judged on a case-by-case basis. Mods may use discretion to pre-approve videos or press releases from highly credible sources that provide unique, newsworthy content not available or possible in another format.
7. No duplicate posts.
If an article has already been posted, it will be removed. Different articles reporting on the same subject are permitted. If the post that matches your post is very old, we refer you to rule 5.
8. Misinformation is prohibited.
Misinformation / propaganda is strictly prohibited. Any comment or post containing or linking to misinformation will be removed. If you feel that your post has been removed in error, credible sources must be provided.
9. No link shorteners or news aggregators.
All posts must link to original article sources. You may include archival links in the post description. News aggregators such as Yahoo, Google, Hacker News, etc. should be avoided in favor of the original source link. Newswire services such as AP, Reuters, or AFP, are frequently republished and may be shared from other credible sources.
10. Don't copy entire article in your post body
For copyright reasons, you are not allowed to copy an entire article into your post body. This is an instance wide rule, that is strictly enforced in this community.

Quite the headline you've got there.

I'm with you, as Florida resident im so pissed I have to pay for this, but am very glad its not actually going to be operating anymore.
Oh man, your taxpayer money was wasted on a concentration camp.
It's almost like you could have voted against this somehow...
I did.
You have to convince your brain dead cronies who didn’t though
Ever tried convincing someone that roots for Manchester United to instead root for Liverpool?
They t be neighbors, but they aren’t cronies.
Great now do Cop City.
Honestly though, what could possibly cost so much when you're building tents with chain-link fence inside? Did they spend it all on guns or did it just get laundered to politicians and their subcontractor friends?
What costs so much are the kickbacks and bribes. Trump is expanding an existing ballroom in the White House at a cost of $200 million right now too.
I think you know the answer
Do you really have to ask?
The party of "fiscal responsibility", everyone!
Remind me how a bunch of tents cost over $200 million?
Maybe DOGGO got involved - the Department Of Gross Government Overspending.
They probably renting them, since it’s from Budget.
Budget Rent-a-Alcatraz
But hey, Trump and his buddies just made 218 million.
The memeification/cutesiness of the name of this center and others (Cornhusker Clink, Speedway Slammer) are blackpilling honestly.
Call them what they are. Concentration camps.
From wikipedia, emphasis mine:
A concentration camp is a prison or other facility used for the internment of political prisoners or politically targeted demographics, such as members of national or ethnic minority groups, on the grounds of national security, or for exploitation or punishment.
in snow crash the the lobbies were also themed, but i guess disney hasnt purchased the geo group yet
*Aligator Auschwitz. FTFW.
But there's no money for healthcare or feeding children.
Are they winning yet?
I wouldn’t doubt that someone made money on it. And lots of it.
State of morons. They deserve it.
I feel sorry for those floridians who didn't vote for this.
When have conservatives actually cared about losing money?
When they can blame it on a Democrat leader
Bingo
If they follow the order.
It’s exactly that. They’re going to ignore court orders sooner or later.
Donald will just use a pos EO saying to leave it open, and people will think EO’s are laws.
Could not happen to a nicer bunch of MAGAts.
I'd vote to pay taxes on three times that amount if it would put a stop to all of this...
won't someone think of the bottom line
Lmao
AP focusing on the most important part as usual 🙄
It's not like this is their first story on the place. They've covered the abuse. I do wish they'd ball up and call it a concentration camp, though.
we can't shut it down, man. we've already spent a gorrillian dollars on the concentration camp 🥺
