Definition of crime for them is resistance

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 16 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (3 children)

Sure. Sure. Now, about all the child rape...

[–] postmateDumbass@lemmy.world 7 points 1 day ago

Sure. Use your guns to sieze the epstein files, hard drives, etc.

But do it before they are gone.

They will keep attacking and doing evil stuff while we want Files. They will give up power when pried from cold dead hands.

Trump, after signing the "restore the sanctity of christian marriage act", which bans any sexual acts outside of marriage and without the intent of reproduction, as well as all forms of pornography, will get caught raping young girls in the white house, then he will instead rub it into the faces of liberals (read: everyone left of Mussolini) that he and other people in the system can do whatever they want. Then a TV advertisement about serving president Trump will explicitly say that "if you are loyal enough, you can even rape children". Then Elon Musk begin tweeting about his new girlfriend, a very terrified looking 11 year old.

And they will still talk about defending children and women from rapists and pedophiles without the slightest hint of irony.

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago

Well, obviously, they aren't rapists and pedophiles, or the national guard would be hunting them down. Duh.

What protests?

[–] SaveTheTuaHawk@lemmy.ca 43 points 2 days ago (5 children)

Well... It's not the first time the National Guard gunned down protesters. No one was ever held responsible for Kent State murders, and Kent State was not the only college that saw National Guard violence. 60 years ago, and in that time, no laws were changed to prevent it from happening again.

Ok then. This sounds exactly like the stuff all you Second Amendment aficionados have been warning about my entire life. I assume that you’re all prepping, and gearing up to take out these federal goons when they show up in your town. Right? I mean, if this isn’t it, then you’ve just been cosplaying that ‘don’t tread on me’ bravado this whole time. Time to put up.

[–] hansolo@lemmy.today 34 points 2 days ago (1 children)

They'll never think about it like that. Even though Ruby Ridge happened under Bush 41, the Weavers are all insane about Democrats. Even though most of them would suggest 9/11 was an Inside Job to pass the Patriot Act, under Bush 43, it was all Obama to blame for anything bad. Even though Trump banned bump stocks, it's the Dems that love gun control (which they rarely ever actually pass). Even though James Brady was Reagan's press secretary, the Brady Bill passed under Clinton right after Waco happened and the ATF made taking guns a national obsession with those people.

I have a great idea for a name, too. They can call them Guard Emplacements Suppressing Tyranny And Protecting Order.

[–] thefluffiest@feddit.nl 23 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

The Gestapo was the secret police. Hitlers private paramilitary organization was the SA and later the SS. So this development is more like setting up the SS. Especially if you then fold in ICE to run the camps.

Why? It doesn’t work. They’re there in DC and they still haven’t beat the shit out of Trump and imprisoned him.

This guy has the worldview and the emotional maturity of a toddler. After this whole thing has passed, there MUST be guardrails put in place against this kind of individual

[–] starryoccultist@lemmy.sdf.org 13 points 2 days ago (1 children)

This whole thing isn't going to pass. Trump/Hegseth are only external expressions of the fundamental rot at the heart of America's social, political and economic systems. America is in terminal decline and putting guardrails around the presidency is too little, too late

[–] Hadriscus@jlai.lu 6 points 2 days ago

Yes, when I said "has passed", I mean "when the people of the United States have vanquished this specific version of fascism". I wasn't suggesting that it was going to pass on its own.

[–] laranis@lemmy.zip 8 points 2 days ago (3 children)

We had a chance. Biden's administration should have been solely focused on preventing the return and acceleration of fascism. Instead, they cowed to their corporate masters and threw crumbs to the people.

As others have said, we've likely had our last free election as the United States of America. Whatever follows should absolutely have guardrails against this happening again.

Who's gonna put up guardrails? The useless democrats?

It's up to each state's governors.

Its almost like he wants the California National guard to repeatedly shove their bayonets up his ass and string him upside down from a telephone pole in the streets of DC.

Please, proceed..

Knowing how Science works is now a death penalty crime.

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 18 points 2 days ago (8 children)

They've been trying to spin literally any protests or even just token resistance as criminal, and rural voters, by and large, absolutely believe that cities are hives of crime and iniquity.

Sorry for the lecture but...

This is the important shit. Please don't get distracted. They are preparing for the next elections. They won't go willingly.

[–] Sunflier@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

British did exactly this when perpetrating the Boston massacre prior to the Revolution.

[–] Rivalarrival@lemmy.today 3 points 1 day ago (1 children)

We know how that turned out for them.

Time for a good ole fashioned coup.

[–] vegeta@lemmy.world 37 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Director Hegseth, execute order 47

[–] Formfiller@lemmy.world 22 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago)

Then he proceeds to get hammered and accidentally add a dick pic on the official zoom slideshow presentation

[–] Zier@fedia.io 26 points 2 days ago (7 children)

There are 109,000 cities & town in the US. You are going to create a second 'police' department run by the Federal government (just like Russia has). That is a huge financial undertaking.

[–] halcyoncmdr@lemmy.world 26 points 2 days ago (1 children)

That is a huge financial undertaking.

Congress gave ICE $75 billion over four years, approximately $18.7 billion each year because daddy Trump demanded it. Added to the $10 billion Congress already appropriated ICE for fiscal year 2025 in March, ICE now has $28.7 billion at its disposal this year. ICE alone now has more budgeted than the entire Department of Justice.

“Trump thinks cops are bad at their job” should be the headline going forward.

Step 4: burn Constitution?

Nah, they'll keep it as a holy book to swear on, while doing the opposite of what's written in it.

Gun grab? Really? I mean it’s about control for sure. But your first thought was gun grab? It’s to create a dictatorship. The fascist fucks won’t stop on that but… gun grab is not how I would describe it…

[–] DragonTypeWyvern@midwest.social 24 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (3 children)

An inevitable goal in a dictatorship is disarming the opposition. The in-group can often keep their weapons to help oppress the outgroups.

This was also, as it happens, one of the real goals of the 2nd Amendment. Most of the founders weren't under any real belief that a militia based military was a viable treat to a regular army like the British model, they saw how poorly the militias fared in the Revolution.

The militia model that was the goal of the 2nd was about rapid reactionary forces for slave revolts and Indian exterminations.

Personally I think this is more about killing protestors but whatever they can do two things with one action
