It is amazing to see that he supports Mamdanis campaign like that.

[–] MehBlah@lemmy.world 24 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Please everyone keep voting for people you know don't care about you at all.

[–] pyre@lemmy.world 9 points 1 day ago

i don't think that applies when Mamdani wiped the floor with cuomo in the primary.

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 40 points 1 day ago (1 children)

His excuse is that it would raise the price of groceries to those who have them delivered. I'm sorry but if you can afford to have your fucking groceries delivered in this economy then you're not hurting financially and can afford to pay the delivery guy a little bit more money to be your fucking gopher.

[–] leftytighty@slrpnk.net 10 points 1 day ago (2 children)

while I'm generally with you, let's not forget that this can be an accessibility thing as well

[–] DancingBear@midwest.social 2 points 17 hours ago

In which case the delivery drivers should be public workers with full federal benefits

[–] ThatGuy46475@lemmy.world 13 points 1 day ago (1 children)

If the government didn’t help the disabled with delivery before DoorDash they don’t get to use that excuse now.

[–] leftytighty@slrpnk.net 2 points 1 day ago

yeah definitely, and poverty wages for gig workers isn't how service is provided, but I was specifically referring to the mild antagonistic tone towards users.

The antagonism should be directed at the companies and government

One more example that our "labor" party is anti-labor and pro-business; awful pay and the worst benefits of the first world, even eastern Europe has more benefits.

It's more that Mayor Eric Adams is a Trump-compromised piece of horseshit.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

His little stunts during Luigi's capture was pretty obvious.

[–] ShaggySnacks@lemmy.myserv.one 2 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I remember when Eric Adam’s cosplayed during that “prep walk”.

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 1 points 19 hours ago

hiding behind luigi, to curry favors from trump.

Smearing shit on the walls before Mamdani comes to clean house of these corporate anti-worker puppets

"NYC Mayor Eric Adams vetoes bill guaranteeing workers to staff grocery stores"

Hope they enjoy the fruits of their labor, and the flies, and mold, and boxes everywhere...

welp, guess I'll go work somewhere else for $1 more

[–] kn0wmad1c@programming.dev 33 points 2 days ago (3 children)

Why did people vote this guy in again? It can't be because he ran on a campaign of hatred of his citizens

[–] BakerBagel@midwest.social 28 points 2 days ago (1 children)

The Democrats wanted to push a right wing cop so they could act like they are 'tough on crime"or some bullshit.

[–] vaultdweller013@sh.itjust.works 1 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Tough on crime is stupid since 9/10 the crime isnt something that should be tough on, even cases with clear cut good and bad still need tenderness and empathy at least for the victim. I'm a stoic asshole at least externally and even I know you need to show empathy and affection. Though don't show it to me if I'm freaking out, I'll think you are trying to manipulate me and I will throw something heavy at you which for relative perspective the heaviest thing I've thrown was 200 pounds okay it was more dropping with style but my point stands.

Strong support from black churches in NYC. You know how the religious fall in line when the church tells them to do something?

[–] Tollana1234567@lemmy.today 2 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

NYC has alot of rich people in, they want a status qou, so often times you here an R gets into be mayor of NYC. THATS HOW nyc had RUDY guiluiani.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 27 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Adams is trash. No one I know (here in NYC) voted for him or even likes him, but I hang out in pretty left wing circles.

[–] derin@lemmy.beru.co 16 points 2 days ago* (last edited 2 days ago) (1 children)

I voted for him, and regret it so much. I was a true dingus. I'm on the Mamdani bandwagon, now.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 9 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Can you share what lead you to support Adams, and what changed your mind?

[–] derin@lemmy.beru.co 11 points 2 days ago (1 children)

Was new to the city, had a bunch of liberal friends who lived in Harlem that supported him and waxed poetic about his potential. The ex-cop thing was seen as a boon, at that point.

Things started going down hill real fast in my eyes when the whole Turkish airlines scandal broke.

In retrospect I should have listened to my other liberal friends who warned me against him. There's a lot of regret, on my part.

[–] jjjalljs@ttrpg.network 3 points 2 days ago

Well, there's no going back and changing the past, so the best you can do is learn. Glad you've come around!

[–] answersplease77@lemmy.world 12 points 2 days ago (3 children)

this guy is like superman but in reverse

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

You mean he flies butt-first by sucking air in his anus?

[–] answersplease77@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

someone should animate eric adams flying like that just in time to prevent minimum-pay workers from recieving minimun-wage gurantees by the their multi-billion greedy, and human-exploitating evil companies

[–] HugeNerd@lemmy.ca 2 points 1 day ago

Anything remotely close to what I envision, like a flying Goatse-man flying gape-first, gets rejected by the generators I've tried.

Bizzaro was trying to help people though, even in the continuity where he was an unstable clone he was still a good guy. If memory serves in the old DCAU continuity he was put on what amounted to a death world where nothing could hurt him and he loved it, he thought the planets murder animals were cute dogs.

Do not slander my man bizzaro.

[–] WindyRebel@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

For sure. Maybe Homelander or Ultraman is a better reverse Superman then.

[–] iconic_admin@lemmy.world 24 points 2 days ago (2 children)

This is why Mamdani I is going to win.

God I hope so

[–] buddascrayon@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago

It's going to be iffy because both Adams and Cuomo are attempting to spoil the race.

[–] MyOpinion@lemmy.today 13 points 2 days ago

We can't have these poor people making money. /s

Thanks Democrats!
