Geez, when the highlight of your career is a TV show you did for four years back in the ‘90’s… I can understand a career change is in order :D

[–] Blackmist@feddit.uk 4 points 2 days ago

Acting career going well then?

[–] OrteilGenou@lemmy.world 10 points 3 days ago

Not real, and not spectacular

[–] Angelusz@lemmy.world 6 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

Funny thing is, I never really liked his version of the movie because of a gut feeling I could not explain. Recent events have taught me why.

Superman is an illegal alien.

[–] MyNameIsRichard@lemmy.ml 67 points 3 days ago (1 children)

So it turns out that Dean Cain is a cunt.

[–] kryptonianCodeMonkey@lemmy.world 24 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

It sucks because I genuinely liked that show growing up, but Dean the person is antithetical to Superman the character

Here's Dean Cain's new ICE uniform:

Look, it's a fascist.

[–] EntropyFlux@lemmy.world 28 points 3 days ago

Seems like a logical move when one’s acting career is in the toilet: make ANOTHER bad decision.

[–] MeekerThanBeaker@lemmy.world 23 points 3 days ago

This will make Hollywood want to hire him even harder!!

🤪

[–] 6stringringer@lemmy.zip 19 points 3 days ago

Only gig he can get.

[–] kikutwo@lemmy.world 20 points 3 days ago

Haven't heard his name in twenty years.

[–] HubertManne@piefed.social 13 points 3 days ago

Not surprising if you know this guy.

[–] cubism_pitta@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago* (last edited 3 days ago)

The IMDB scores on his movie projects averaged out are objectively shit.... the article was being so kind to him lol

[–] xbxblast@lemmy.ca 10 points 3 days ago

He used to have a halfway decent smile. Now it just looks like every other maga chud's. Oh well.. at least Kevin Sorbo will have someone else to talk to now.

So I don't know jack about shit when it comes to nuclear materials since most of my interest is in nuclear safety equipment, weapons, and nuclear powered shit but what's the most radioactive unrefined material? I know Uranium can fuck you up while mining but that's due to gasses if memory serves right, the reason I ask is because of irony.

“This country was built on patriots stepping up, whether it was popular or not, and doing the right thing. I truly believe this is the right thing,” Cain said on Fox News.

Well, first note is that America was built on the work of immigrants.

But... What does he mean "the right thing"? I looked at the rest of the article to see if it was explained. This is the closest I could find:

“I felt it was important to join with our first responders to help secure the safety of all Americans, not just talk about it, so I joined up,” Cain said, speaking directly to the camera as John Williams’ theme from the 1978 “Superman” film plays.

So, it's for "the safety of all Americans". Nothing but propaganda. He's saying that all illegal immigrants are dangerous criminals, otherwise you'd only want to deport the ones who actually are dangerous. By the way, I just saw some statistics that 2024 was the safest America had been since the 1960s.

Immigrants are mostly law abiding people. It should be completely fucking obvious, but haven't you ever heard of the concept "only break one law at a time"? The idea is that the more laws you break at once, the more likely you're going to get caught for something, and then you'll be punished for everything, so if it's important to you to break one law, then only break that one.

It's generally very difficult to sneak into America illegally. That's the one law they break. If they break other laws, they'll be punished and deported. I would wager that most illegals break fewer laws in America than they did in the country they came from, out of fear of being deported.

And the trashiness of making that announcement while the famous Superman music plays. There were some alternate timelines or universes where Superman was an authoritarian tyrant. Maybe Dean Cain was thinking about those versions of Superman. Because the famous one isn't really about hating people and being racist.

[–] phutatorius@lemmy.zip 3 points 3 days ago

In short, he's a fucking idiot who wants to abuse vulnerable people.

[–] AbidanYre@lemmy.world 3 points 3 days ago

What does he mean "the right thing"?

Probably not padlocking them in the back of the next Penske truck like the rest of us mean.

[–] s@piefed.world 5 points 3 days ago

No worries, Batman has a kryptonite contingency plan for if/when Superman were to turn evil

[–] BigPotato@lemmy.world 2 points 3 days ago

I'm ashamed that I once photoshopped Wish.com Mario Lopez into various Dark Souls armor to send to my friends in relation to John Mullaney's Dean Cain joke.

[–] masterofn001@lemmy.ca 2 points 3 days ago

He prefers the German: übermensch

[–] bubblybubbles@lemmy.ml 2 points 3 days ago (1 children)

Chat is this real? Did I eat an onion?!?

[–] Mirshe@lemmy.world 11 points 3 days ago

Nope, this is real. Cain has been a serious right wing asshole for years.
