Here’s what capitulating to Donald Trump does for you: Gets tariffs implemented on your goods while also pissing off your domestic base.

There’s no flying under the radar and hoping to squeak by without Trump and the US noticing. The proper move is to say “Whatever the US does to us we’re doing double to them” and plan on cutting off all trade with the US.

We don’t even produce anything! Just buy stuff from China like you were already doing anyway! If you need gas get it from Russia! The only countries actually harmed by cutting off literally all trade with the US are Canada, Mexico, and China, all of which have been proving that the best course of action is to say “Eat shit Donald” and then enjoy the highest approval ratings of any politician in your country for a decade

California is very important for the EU. It's not about losing cheap goods from the US, it's those tech services they need/want. You can bet they'll cave to buy time to try and build/find a more local solution.

I call it Ukranization of Europe (as opposed to the europeazation of ukraine) but I think you have a point, in other areas too the EU over these years has become more like ukraine because it has had to absorb all the anti-russia hysteria along with the ukraninan nationalist view of history

Europe will never learn. They fear war so much that they shoot themselves in the foot. If they become financially independent, they would have a strong military that would stop wars from happening.

Switzerland is also learning that US cannot be trusted blindly because you are neutral. Things can and will fuck you when you maintain "dependence" on anyone else.

Eurolibs only think in the short-term and will protest tooth and nail over concessions (only for said concessions to be recalled soon later) AND only if those concessions benefit them..
