Turns out everyone who has the power to stop Israel from doing this refuses to so actually no the world is letting you

[–] refolde@hexbear.net 20 points 1 week ago (1 children)

The world can be licking the shit off of Israel's boot and they will still complain that they're not supporting them enough.

At this post the american foreign policy apparatus should consider regime change in Israel just for the ingratitude

“🥺 no one will let us starve a bunch of babies” as the world actively allows them to starve a bunch of babies

israelis are sick demented freaks

Im not trying to do an antisemitism here if it's a super common Hebrew name but Bezalel literally sounds like a demon's name. Like he's Diablo's forgotten 4th brother

Sorry to any non genocidal Bezalels who might be reading

Extremely close to Belial/Beelzebub imo

Its because a lot of those names are biblical names. El means God. So a lot of angels have names ending in -el. Gabriel, Michael, Azazel. But a lot of "normal" names also invoke God. Bezalel is from that same traditon, same for names like Daniel and Samuel.

An equivalent is how many muslim/arab/arabised names include pre and suffixes invoking God or the names and attributes of God. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Arabic_theophoric_names

i think it's the z's for me though, like Samuel doesn't sound demon-coded

Does Zachary read demonic? What about Zsa Zsa?

[–] Abracadaniel@hexbear.net 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

bezalel specifically sounds close to both Beelzebub and Azazel so I get you.

Or Baal from Baldurs gate. Any number of possibilities

The misspelling/conflation? Or something even worse?

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Its spelled Bhaal. But no, I think, Baal is just a very popular name in a lot of different type of media.

Proof that I’m a fake gamer, I’ve only listened to video essays about the original

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 week ago (1 children)

I am actually playing the OG currently!

[–] OnceUponATimeInWeHo@hexbear.net 1 points 1 week ago (1 children)

Oh sick, how does it hold up nowadays?

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 week ago

Its satisfactory. Faerun isnt my favourite setting and all. And they throw like a billion companions at you and you aren't sure who to keep around at all, for story's sake (well except for you know who). I mean it definitely feels like an old game and the writing isnt mind-blowing (like record of lodoss war, it produced various batches of tropes), but I have been enjoying it so far. Oh and I die a lot, so there is a risk in every encounter, since I play with companions can actually die mode on.

If you value games for their contributions to media art history, then you should undoubtedly try it!

i didn't comment when I first read it but lol he's also big in Diablo 2. That's probably where I first read the name

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 2 points 1 week ago

Baal means Lord

[–] redchert@lemmygrad.ml 8 points 1 week ago (1 children)

the demonic names are all Semitic names because Christians ripped off kabbalah.

probably the real answer tbh

[–] Z_Poster365@hexbear.net 22 points 1 week ago

turns out everyone in the world would let them

[–] Fishroot@hexbear.net 18 points 1 week ago

from one of the recent episode of chapo trap house with jasper Nathaniel, this dude managed to do a slow internal coup within the knesset, which makes him the de-facto ruler of the west bank and in charge of the settlement affairs.

Yeah but you see, they’re the good guys because the funny internet pictures say that if you don’t support Israel you can’t be part of the digital popular kids table.
