Back in school I used to know the IT Guy and he gave me additional access on my school account (he gave this access to a few students so we could find potential flaws in his network, we never did as we just used the additional access to install and play wolf et).

Anyways one of the folders I could access was incorrectly used by my maths teacher to save his examples/answers for some program we used to learn about geometry. I copied the file and made small changes to hide the theft, nothing that affected the answers.

He gave me a B... And I couldn't say anything as I never did the work and couldn't re-create the project if asked too.

He graded his own work badly... Never trusted any grade I got from him again.

Maybe he knew and the answers on the document were partially wrong

[–] Noite_Etion@lemmy.world 1 points 3 hours ago

Maybe, but that just means he was using incorrect examples to educate the class, and he showed us some of these examples multiple times. If he did that makes him an even worse teacher in my mind.

Either way it was annoying that i couldn't say anything.

If this is you, you're a toxic person in a relationship with a toxic person.

It’s funny, your head went to relationship – my mind went straight to a Work scenario where you’re being told one thing by your boss or whoever but someone already told you the truth.

That's what I thought too

[–] Inaminate_Carbon_Rod@lemmy.world 22 points 22 hours ago (1 children)

Kind of makes them seem a bit toxic ironically

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 13 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Different kind of toxic tbh

[–] fulcrummed@lemmy.world 6 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

Not sure I follow this line of thought. I honestly didn’t think of anything nefarious - just someone who was privy to a situation or piece of information that they hadn’t been instructed to keep quiet. I’ve had that exact thing happen to me so many times where someone mentioned something that happened conversationally and then the official line was something different. No reason to make waves or bring it up - just initiates some curiosity/wariness.

I get that. It could be innocent too.

Yah, I think we’re on the same page. We’re all a product of our experiences and recent context probably informs how we all interpret posts like this.

[–] ObviouslyNotBanana@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago

I totally see it as an innocent thing myself, but I also know people who live in those type of toxic relationships (who are toxic themselves and I try not to hang around them too much).

I think you make some toxic jumps from A to E instead of the optional B, C, or D if your mind not only goes to a relationship, but instantly jumps to both parties being toxic.
