Oh great - President Vance then. 🤮🤮🤮

[–] throwawayacc0430@sh.itjust.works 12 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (2 children)

At least you wont die of a temper tantrum global nuclear war.

Congrats, this "titanic" we're on will now sink just a teeny tiny bit slower... (talking about climate-change denialism) 🫠

I reckon Vance has the potential to be a lot more volatile and cruel than Trump. Trump's just a greedy, dumb arsehole that says whatever he thinks will make him a buck. Vance creeps me the fuck out, and his rich mates are no better.

[–] CalipherJones@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago (1 children)

Vance is smarter and more youthful than Trump. He's backed by technocrats. I find him insufferable. I hope his base does too should he ever get his hands on the presidency because he has the potential to be more dangerous than Trump.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world -2 points 6 days ago (1 children)

People say this but I really question what your standards of hitting bottom is. I also wonder just how much you’re following the court cases Donald is losing and how much they are holding the gate. Or what exactly congressional purse strings are being held

Trump’s volatility is unpredictable and random because he is in decline. He has no loyalty. And he’s a giant blow hard

He doesn’t show up to meetings he himself said he’s in and loses focus.

the DOJ are facing losing their bar and bucking back at Donald now. Donald doesnt have to care cuz he’s circling the drain and trying to take everyone down with him.

And Mike Johnson and Steve miller are absolutely trying to take advantage of Donald’s dementia.

So please describe to me in detail how much worse Vance is going to be. Tell me your greatest fear and Vance’s strategy to punch through where a dementia riddled blow hard hasn’t been able to this past 4 months without facing the same risk of impeachment and/or held in contempt at every step.

I mean the Dude balked at Greenland calling it too cold and looked completely confused on what he was supposed to do there to ‘take it over’… no one answered their door.

And you’re scared of this guy?

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

Same way I'm scared of a toddler with a loaded gun. He might seem like a gormless twat now, but give him unfettered power, like Trump is setting him up for, and I reckon he'll go completely mental.

[–] Smoogs@lemmy.world 1 points 5 days ago* (last edited 5 days ago)

HE ‘S LITERALLY SENDING PEOPLE TO DEATH CAMPS. children are literally starving to death. Did you not notice because the skin sent to the death camps was brown with tats?

He’s been trying to reduce power of congress and take anyone off the streets regardless of citizenship to send to a gulag.

This has been happening all well before TACO.

You need to bring your standards up WAY higher than they are right now if this is all happening right under your nose and your just sitting there thinking he wasn’t already mental.

[–] throwawayacc0430@sh.itjust.works 6 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago) (1 children)

vance is also a lot younger

is he gonna want to live in a bunker for the rest of his like? zero sunlight, cramped af living space?

Dude is so uncharasmatic and useless and weird, if the US government went underdergound in a bunker, he'd get coup'ed by some general on the first night. he has no power if the country falls apart due to nukes.

If nuclear war happens. The "leaders" of the countries are no longer leaders, each bunker would just become an independent state with their commander as a warlord.

[–] Almacca@aussie.zone 2 points 6 days ago

And then you've gotta deal with ghouls and deathclaws and suchlike. It's a bloody shambles!

[–] CircaV@lemmy.ca 2 points 6 days ago

I wouldn’t put it past any of them. They’re all psycho incompetent batshit crazy afaik

[–] Kekzkrieger@feddit.org 19 points 6 days ago

I dont think it would solve the overall issue the US has, tho it would be not the worst thing to happen

That was the idea.

Trump dies in office, JD Vance is sworn is an President

[–] 2ugly2live@lemmy.world 15 points 6 days ago

I want him to fall into the pits of hell, but before he does, his scorched, cheeto dust fingers breech the surface one last time to curl around Vance's pant leg, dragging him down with him.

[–] SupremeDonut@lemmy.ml 2 points 6 days ago* (last edited 6 days ago)

That Billy Squier song is gonna get a shit ton of hits here soon I hope

[–] Bieren@lemmy.world 1 points 6 days ago

No matter what happens. No matter how much worse he gets. He will always, always, always say Biden was worse and that he is most smartest person in the history of the universe.

Trump dying sounds good until you consider he'll be replaced by JD Vance

I was curious how far down the line of succession you would have to go to find someone who would not be a catastrophically bad president. 11 positions down is the Secretary of Labor, Lori Chavez-DeRemer. She's a Hispanic woman who was one of 6 Republican house members who signed a pledge to respect the results of the 2024 election, the only Republican cosponsor of a pro- union bill, and opposes a national Bank on abortion or IVF. Far from Ideal but light years better than the rest of the fascists on the list

JD Vance doesn't have the following or the charisma to pull off the nonsense Trump does. MAGA doesn't work without Trump. Anytime MAGA has been in an election without Trump it fails pretty spectacularly.

[–] calabast@lemm.ee 25 points 1 week ago (3 children)

Maybe, but if he inherits a full on police state, he might not need charisma or followers any more.

I don't want Trump to die. I want him just in the edge of mental degradation so there's a constitutional crisis. GQP will hesitate to 24A him cause MAGA would revolt. It would be an extremely lame duck presidency.

I want Trump to live long and quiet enough that he's forgotten.

I want him to survive a Cat-5 hurricane that destroys Mar-a-Lago.

I want him to drool uncontrollably in a wheelchair while they take down his name down from buildings and golf resorts and turn them into shelters for the homeless and asylum seekers.

I want all his sons turn into Viserys III Targaryen, paupers and laughing stocks that people entertain out of pity, not respect.

I want him to live a long life in interesting times.

Nothing will get him out of office other than death. That includes 2028.

My hope is that he has a massive stroke live on TV and then ends up wheelchair-bound unable to speak without the help of a Stephen Hawking style talk box and then deteriorates over the next few months and off to the golf course with ya Donny.

I mean, Mitch McConnell had a stroke on camera and he's still proudly serving in the US Senate.

Despite these concerns, the White House physician, Captain Sean Barbabella, issued a clean bill of health in April, stating Trump "exhibits excellent cognitive and physical health."

Oh, right. The same people who covered up how close to death Reagan was after a pedophile shot him.

"He's a guy who's subsisted off of McDonald's and Kentucky Fried Chicken and well done steaks for a very long time," he said. "He is not a healthy guy."

This is it for me. Well done steaks? Medium rare, ride or die. Let's go!

well done steaks

It's like he's good a being a monster in every capacity possible. Probably asks for the ketchup bottle at 4-star dining while he's at it.

[–] Bakkoda@sh.itjust.works 2 points 6 days ago

Regan, Trump, Biden, Trump.

[–] mechoman444@lemmy.world 28 points 1 week ago (13 children)

Wait. You're telling me that people in their late 70s early 80s don't make for great presidents??

No way. 😐

I don't see how it could make any difference.

He's already an idiot, a delusional narcissist, and a compulsive liar, so it's not as if he could become even more detached from realitybthan he already is. And his supporters don't care (and likely don't even notice), since they're even dumber than he is.

And it's not like he"s going to forget his platform, since it's pretty much just hating immigrants and LGBTQ, dicking over poor people, singing his own praises and scamming as much money as possible, and that's all as natural and automatic to him as breathing..

Really, there's just not much cognition going on there in the first place - it's more in the nature of infantile immediacy and animal instincts - so I can't see how any loss of it would matter much.
