Machia voted for Trump, drawn by promises of border control and national security. “We didn’t want drugs or gangbangers,” he said. But what he didn’t expect was losing some of his most dedicated employees to immigration arrests.

“It’s scaring the farming community,” Machia admitted. “We didn’t think they’d come for the people who help us milk cows.”

LOL. Idiots

…b-b-but i didn't mean the ones that work for ME!

[–] Godwins_Law@lemmy.ca 23 points 1 day ago (1 children)

What is thesarkariform.com? Is this a real journalistic source? Let's be better then the maga idiots.

[–] mriswith@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago) (1 children)

Even the Bing "AI" label it as crap. Putting the name in quotes on ddg gives 1 result, and it's not the website. Its mediabiasfactcheck.com, which calls it quiestionable. And it didn't exist a couple of years ago. All the articles are written by "Ethan Brooks" or just the site name.

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

mediabiasfactcheck.com is crap though

[–] mriswith@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

You're not wrong, but it is an indicator.

[–] LePoisson@lemmy.world 101 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Here's the problem. The person complaining about Trump's admin policies and carrying out these arrests ... Yeah that person says they would still vote for Trump.

So, what the fuck are you supposed to do? That's like someone complaining about inviting a person over that ended up stabbing them but saying they would still invite them back.

Ok ... So I guess if logic is completely out of the picture how are we supposed to get anywhere with anyone that voted for Trump? It's like they watch the consequences of their decision, complain about the consequences then queue up to repeat the same decision.

[–] knightly@pawb.social 60 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Stop using logic and start using mockery.

How else is one supposed to react to such pathetic sycophants?

[–] corsicanguppy@lemmy.ca 14 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Schadenfreude is the BEST freude.

[–] knightly@pawb.social 7 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Remember how much they hated being called "weird"?

[–] Someonelol@lemmy.dbzer0.com 4 points 1 day ago

Yeah. Until Kamala decided to stop attacking Trump and his supporters that way and it quietly died off.

[–] SulaymanF@lemmy.world 5 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Mockery doesn’t win over any new people to your cause and makes even more people dig their heels in even deeper.

It feels great but it’s counterproductive.

[–] Hikermick@lemmy.world 22 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Thats why it's a cult, people get so invested they can't turn around.

[–] x00z@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago

They would have to face their own failure and ego when acknowledging their mistake.

[–] N0t_5ure@lemmy.world 104 points 1 day ago (1 children)

“It’s scaring the farming community,” Machia admitted. “We didn’t think they’d come for the people who help us milk cows.”

"We didn't think the leopards would eat our faces!"

[–] hitmyspot@aussie.zone 27 points 1 day ago

A d then they will be forced to raise wages to attract people and then prices go up and everyone will be shocked that food inflation spirals again.

I believed Trump when he said the egg prices would go down.and that foreigners would pay the tariffs.

[–] grue@lemmy.world 43 points 1 day ago (2 children)

Just hire American citizens instead, then.

Oh wait, you say that would cost more? Sounds like you're a loser deserves to go out of business, then!

[–] explodicle@sh.itjust.works 2 points 1 day ago

Actual outcome: huge farming conglomerate uses robots instead.

[–] crumbguzzler5000@feddit.org 10 points 1 day ago

This is literally what Trump would tell them too haha.

[–] assembly@lemmy.world 62 points 1 day ago (1 children)

“Even though Machia says he would still vote for Trump”. We are all screwed. This person is directly negatively impacted by the person he voted for and complaining but vote for additional negative consequences moving forward…which they will also complain about.

[–] Lightor@lemmy.world 10 points 1 day ago (1 children)

“Replacing your whole crew every few months isn’t realistic,” said Machia. “It takes time to train people, and locals just don’t want to do this work anymore.”

But he'd do it all over again. Cults are wild.

[–] kent_eh@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

locals just don’t want to do this work anymore.”

They would if you paid reasonable wages and weren't a shitty person to work for.

[–] AGM@lemmy.ca 21 points 1 day ago

I have a great deal of sympathy for them.

The people who used to milk the cows, that is.

[–] BCsven@lemmy.ca 17 points 1 day ago (1 children)

So did he have drugs and gangs on his farm? Or did Trump just tell him it was a problem and he believed it?

He had drugs and gangs on his teevee and he got real confused :(

[–] Eldritch@lemmy.world 27 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Well at least they still have their drugs and gangbangers.

[–] KingPorkChop@lemmy.ca 19 points 1 day ago

And their shitty hormone and antibiotic infused milk.

[–] Cruxifux@feddit.nl 26 points 1 day ago (1 children)

WHY WOULDNT YOU THINK THAT?!??

[–] KingGordon@lemmy.world 14 points 1 day ago

Stupid fuckers.

[–] Lucky_777@lemmy.world 21 points 1 day ago

I mean, you were afraid of immigrants stealing your jobs. So now you just gotta hire local or get those bootstraps ready! The sun is rising!

[–] shalafi@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago (1 children)

“We didn’t want drugs or gangbangers,”

We thought they'd be arresting n*****s. There. That's what he meant.

[–] Microplasticbrain@lemm.ee 8 points 1 day ago (1 children)

I mean what have naggers done for us anyways

[–] LeninsOvaries@lemmy.cafe 5 points 1 day ago

The spoilered word is obviously noodles. Trump is arresting noodles.

[–] Iheartcheese@lemmy.world 16 points 1 day ago

Ignorant fuck I hope he loses everything and ends up on the street.

[–] PanArab@lemm.ee 4 points 1 day ago

Racism is harmful to everyone including the racists

[–] glitchdx@lemmy.world 11 points 1 day ago

this is what you voted for you fucking MORONS.

[–] Korhaka@sopuli.xyz 2 points 1 day ago

One move could be to move to higher value or lower labour agriculture. Stuff like tomatoes, wheat and root veg can be harvested by machine. Higher value relative to the manual labour put in could be meat production.

[–] MushuChupacabra@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

No problem.

Just fill the positions with non DEI hires, at the same rate of pay.

[–] Treczoks@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

Hand me the soap, I feel the need to shed tears.

[–] Showroom7561@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

Anyway, what's your weather like this weekend?

[–] roserose56@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 day ago

You voted for him and now you don't want him? We don't really care. It's your problem guys. can't fix it? no one cares but you. 4 years Trump, you got to love it!

[–] Steve@startrek.website 4 points 1 day ago

Just hire Americans

[–] Microplasticbrain@lemm.ee 3 points 1 day ago

Hahahhahahahahhaha

[–] asg101@lemmy.blahaj.zone 3 points 1 day ago

Thoughts and prayers...

[–] errer@lemmy.world 3 points 1 day ago

For future reference, take any shitty article and make it usable by using https://archive.today/SHITLINK

If it's already archived, it will give you the proper link. If it isn't, it will archive first and then give you the new link.

Example using this article:

https://archive.today/https://thesarkariform.com/we-voted-for-trump-to-fix-the-border-now-were-milking-cows-alone-at-4-a-m-vermont-farmers-face-harsh-reality-as-ice-raids-hit-home/

Learn to fish and you will feed yourself for a lifetime.
