"They hate us for our freedom." Not as common since the Iraq War era, but still widely believed.

In person they will sometimes say something about how capitalism isn’t working the way it’s supposed to; i.e., it should be working for me because I am the main character of the universe, but because it isn’t, it needs reforms. So long as I can sit atop a pile of treats, nothing else matters.
It’s NoT CAPitalisM, It’S CORpOrATisM!

Like the entire point isn't to amass a horde of cronies, toadies, lickspittles, and sycophants who will martyr themselves on your altar for crumbs
It's like if you made a society around shooting random people and tried to argue that it's only for shooting bad people. Good. Now explain that to the gun.
"an armed society is a polite society"
when? when does it become polite?
When the well-armed proletariat does the necessary
"I dunno about that." With no elaboration on response to a well thought out point. The Joe Roganization of bros where they act open minded but never fill it with anything isn't new and predates the guy, he got big cause he spoke to that crowd and made it bigger. The eternally curious himbo who refuses to learn
My wife left me
No that's my favorite, along with "Why won't my kids talk to me."
my boss constantly says "denial of reality does not change reality" (i.e facts don't care about feelings) and it drives me insane.
"Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create weak men. And, weak men create hard times."
Strong men create hard men. Hard men create good times. Good times create strong men.
Hard times create strong men. Strong men create good times. Good times create soft men. Soft men make me hard.
"it's a Republic not a democracy "
"Oh shit, you're right! I guess I don't care about human rights anymore."
If you deeply analyze that it's kind of like they're upfront admitting it's an oligarchy or democracy-for-the-rich but using the it's-a-good-thing tone.
so incredibly glad I grew out of this phase
”Religion of peace ”. It's not as popular anymore as the chud zeitgeist switched away from Islamophobia years ago, but I really hate that one.
OK, ”Islam isn't a race” too. Are you talking about white people when you say ”Muslims”, though?
as the chud zeitgeist switched away from Islamophobia
I can guarantee you, they have not. It's just trans-panic is much more popular. There is still a vast amount of people on YouTube calling for the expulsion or extermination of Muslims
I figured it was still popular, just not the #1 issue for them anymore. I could see Trump's bloviating over deportations changing this in the near future
Do your own research!
Calling it communism when capitalists do capitalist things capitalist-ly.
"Play stupid games, win stupid prizes"
"Back to back World War Champs"
"Nobody wants to work anymore"
Play stupid games, win stupid prizes is a genuinely solid phrase. It should be a left wing slogan. Our whole thing is to get people to stop playing a stupid game for stupid prizes. That one should be ours.
Hogs are absolutely lovely dont know what you're on about. Yes {|that}.
"We need to stop being so divided."
Hogs as in Chapos? Like, users of Hexbear? Definitely "beanis".
:beanis-shining:
I've only ever heard* hogs used to refer to rednecks.
This is redneck erasure. Redneck is a classist slur originally used positively by appalacian communists as they wore red bandanas to show solidarity with mostly non-white farm workers. It then evolved into its modern meaning of backwards rural whites. Most famously the rednecks were the ones that took up arms at the battle of Blair Mountain which is also sometimes referred to as the second American civil war as it involved more guns and people than any battle of the 1800s. It was also the first time bombs were dropped on US soil, shortly before the Tulsa massacre.
