Welcome to the discussion of US Politics!

Rules:

  1. Post only links to articles, Title must fairly describe link contents. If your title differs from the site’s, it should only be to add context or be more descriptive. Do not post entire articles in the body or in the comments.

Links must be to the original source, not an aggregator like Google Amp, MSN, or Yahoo.

Example:

  1. Articles must be relevant to politics. Links must be to quality and original content. Articles should be worth reading. Clickbait, stub articles, and rehosted or stolen content are not allowed. Check your source for Reliability and Bias here.
  2. Be civil, No violations of TOS. It’s OK to say the subject of an article is behaving like a (pejorative, pejorative). It’s NOT OK to say another USER is (pejorative). Strong language is fine, just not directed at other members. Engage in good-faith and with respect! This includes accusing another user of being a bot or paid actor. Trolling is uncivil and is grounds for removal and/or a community ban.
  3. No memes, trolling, or low-effort comments. Reposts, misinformation, off-topic, trolling, or offensive. Similarly, if you see posts along these lines, do not engage. Report them, block them, and live a happier life than they do. We see too many slapfights that boil down to "Mom! He's bugging me!" and "I'm not touching you!" Going forward, slapfights will result in removed comments and temp bans to cool off.
  4. Vote based on comment quality, not agreement. This community aims to foster discussion; please reward people for putting effort into articulating their viewpoint, even if you disagree with it.
  5. No hate speech, slurs, celebrating death, advocating violence, or abusive language. This will result in a ban. Usernames containing racist, or inappropriate slurs will be banned without warning

We ask that the users report any comment or post that violate the rules, to use critical thinking when reading, posting or commenting. Users that post off-topic spam, advocate violence, have multiple comments or posts removed, weaponize reports or violate the code of conduct will be banned.

All posts and comments will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis. This means that some content that violates the rules may be allowed, while other content that does not violate the rules may be removed. The moderators retain the right to remove any content and ban users.

That's all the rules!

Canada should use this as an opportunity to cancel dairy quotas in CUSMA. RFK advocates for raw milk. The pubic safety is at risk.

It also gives the US a solid economic fuck you that costs us nothing. We don't really export any milk to them, so all it does is remove the competition in our dairy market. And CUSMA is dead anyway, Trump killed it.

"The US" ain't done shit. You think a majority of your average Americans want him in charge??

[–] cyberpunk007@lemmy.ca 4 points 9 hours ago

I know what you mean. But if trump really didn't rig the election, the US voted him in who put that guy in charge. The whole trickle down thing and all.

[–] Hobbes_Dent@lemmy.world 1 points 8 hours ago

Yes.

To both.

The USA is a military threat for fuck sake. He carves up the Ukraine, Greenland, and Canada on camera and uses “matter of national security”.

Significantly more Americans will likely approve of him when the headlines down there do show a drop in grocery prices no matter how it happens.

It’s at a laughable-if-it-wasn’t-literal-treason-let-alone-theft point.

Literally Nazis. Canadians see that.

Looks like he needs some sugar in water in that picture

[–] athairmor@lemmy.world 12 points 1 day ago

That really is an ill-fitting skin suit. It’s a couple sizes too big and has mostly dried out.

[–] FuglyDuck@lemmy.world 6 points 1 day ago

He’s the reason I’m not so sure reptilians aren’t among us.

Looks like he needs some fentanyl water.

[–] Corkyskog@sh.itjust.works 0 points 1 day ago* (last edited 1 day ago)

Maybe he will put fentanyl in the water... It might make this administration bearable.

It's this guy that might end up killing even more Americans than donvict did in his first term.

I'm here for it. When bird flu goes viral, a lot of people are gonna hit the FO stage.

[–] Default_Defect@midwest.social 2 points 9 hours ago

I got lucky working retail during COVID, never caught it AFAIK, but now I'm post organ transplant and therefore immunocompromised. I'm not so excited for the idiots to spread this shit around.

Photo editors are the Anonymous collective of corporate news sewers.

Another great work of art.

[–] BranBucket@lemmy.world 3 points 16 hours ago

I mean, you couldn't get him to look any more lobotomized if you tried. 10/10.

Rockin' you like a Herman Cain

“Two weeks. Twooo weeeks! Wweeeoo...”

[–] venotic@kbin.melroy.org 6 points 1 day ago

First thing I bet you that he'll do, is say "What bird flu? There doesn't exist one". If we get another wave or two of COVID, he'll be like "Whut Covid? Just go outside and do whatever".

[–] RampantParanoia2365@lemmy.world 3 points 22 hours ago

Figures. He probably ate that guy, too.

[–] just_another_person@lemmy.world 1 points 1 day ago (1 children)

Not the US, just one idiotic party that is full of like-minded assholes.

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 23 hours ago (1 children)

Yes. THANK YOU.

It needs to be acknowledged that it is Republicans that wanted this. All too often when they are up to bad things, you'll see terms like "Congress" did this, or "the United States" did that, in order to water down the who that is actually doing the awful thing.

The "bothsides" narrative is what is destroying this country. It gives a pass to the worst elements of the Republican Party.

[–] AA5B@lemmy.world 3 points 21 hours ago (1 children)

And remember the Republican damage can be felt years down the line

FAFSA changes this year was a Republican bill from 2019 shoehorned in the COViD relief bill at the end of the first round. My kids are losing thousands of dollars in financial aid for college this year from something with a reasonable looking title that Republicans did 6 years ago

[–] CharlesDarwin@lemmy.world 2 points 17 hours ago (1 children)

Doesn't DOE handle school loans? With the dogebags dismantling that, I have no idea what they have planned...

[–] GrumpyDuckling@sh.itjust.works 1 points 16 hours ago

Hopefully they leave that server wide open so someone can go fightclub on it.
