Consider collaboration with similar communities. !fedigrow@lemm.ee is a good place for that
Make posts to them...
Lots of people browse by /all and /new because of lack of content.
Which means it's relatively easy to get a sub to catch on
But you need to actually make posts so people see them. Try to space it out tho, 15 posts in 15 minutes will just get people to block it due to spam. A couple spaced out thru a day tho will start getting more interaction, go for quality not quantity and hope eventually other users start submitting stuff for the quantity part.
If you build it, they will come. (i.e. just keep posting)
Lemmy is still small enough that even the most obscure communities will show up on the All feed, which it seems is how a lot of people browse. If you post to your small community, especially during non peak hours, some people will see it.
As long as they keep posting, I will keep shit commenting 🫡
Probably just activity? I mod a sub thats practically dead. I mean I'll post again soon. But its pretty much dead.
Free nudes
Well, there are a few communities automatically listing new communities and growing communities. Some people have an eye on them, or scroll through the All feed. They might notice on their own. Example: !trendingcommunities@feddit.nl
But you need some good content in your community for people to want to subscribe to you. If it looks empty or has maybe one post... It won't attract people.
So foster your community and add some content. Do that regularly for some time.
What also helps is crossposting.
And you might want to engage in communities like !fedigrow@lemm.ee
Please don't post about US Politics. If you need to do this, try !politicaldiscussion@lemmy.world
1) Be nice and; have fun
Doxxing, trolling, sealioning, racism, and toxicity are not welcomed in AskLemmy. Remember what your mother said: if you can't say something nice, don't say anything at all. In addition, the site-wide Lemmy.world terms of service also apply here. Please familiarize yourself with them
2) All posts must end with a '?'
This is sort of like Jeopardy. Please phrase all post titles in the form of a proper question ending with ?
3) No spam
Please do not flood the community with nonsense. Actual suspected spammers will be banned on site. No astroturfing.
4) NSFW is okay, within reason
Just remember to tag posts with either a content warning or a [NSFW] tag. Overtly sexual posts are not allowed, please direct them to either !asklemmyafterdark@lemmy.world or !asklemmynsfw@lemmynsfw.com.
NSFW comments should be restricted to posts tagged [NSFW].
5) This is not a support community.
It is not a place for 'how do I?', type questions.
If you have any questions regarding the site itself or would like to report a community, please direct them to Lemmy.world Support or email info@lemmy.world. For other questions check our partnered communities list, or use the search function.
Reminder: The terms of service apply here too.
