I fuckin miss snow. Capitalism broke the sky and now my kids will never go sledding, Christmas sucks, vibes are rancid. Going Christmas shopping and there's not piles of snow in the corners of the mall parking lot. I'm not drinking hot chocolate and egg nog if it's 73 degrees fuck.

About 10 years ago I spent a christmas bonus on a really top quality winter coat because I was spending a lot of time waiting on cold commuter train platforms and figured it was a smart practical purchase. I haven't needed to wear it in almost 5 years. It's still in great condition. It may end up lasting me the rest of my life.

expert-shapiro and when it gets hot enough that you'll never need it again just resell it :)

Man I can remember back to my childhood in the 90's Halloween being cold, it sometimes snowing. In the north east today it's fuckin' 80.

I remember once wearing a costume that required shorts and a really thin shirt, and just being freezing all night

[–] SorosFootSoldier@hexbear.net 10 points 2 months ago

Same. I remember having a skeleton costume that was thin and freezing because of it.

Really scary though gotta give it that

My job requires me to visit people’s homes every day. At least once a day someone remarks on the niceness of the weather. It takes so much self restraint on my part to just be like “yeah.” Halloween where I live is always noticeably and sometimes even shockingly cold. Not today.

i hate this so much. i feel like i'm fucking crazy because all of the adults in my life are just like "aw, gorsh, it's so beautiful out! i hope the weather stays this way!"

i hate it here. i hate it so fucking much. all of these apathetic shitlibs who defend system out of cowardice and selfishness will rot in hell for eternity for condemning the human race to a slow, painful death.

Nightmare Before Christmas sequel where Christmas in July takes over Halloween

[–] Guamer@hexbear.net 4 points 2 months ago

Honestly, a sequel about Christmas culturally encroaching on Halloween's turf might work.

What a beautiful day amirite?

[–] SpiderFarmer@hexbear.net 5 points 2 months ago

Last year we got a snowstorm on Halloween. I'm used to snow on Halloween, but this was the heavy, wet stuff.

Negative 2C here and a significant layer of snow. Fun fact: Autumn usually lasts into November
