Its strange how most convicted felons are locked up and banned from voting

but trump is not only walking free, but running for president

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 41 points 1 week ago

Do it. Call it an official presidential act and it's legal.

Send him to Gitmo or put him in a federal supermax. Legal.

Very legal, very cool

[-] betterdeadthanreddit@lemmy.world 40 points 1 week ago

Well now he's really done it, that crossed the line. I won't be voting for Biden now.

[-] FlyingSquid@lemmy.world 16 points 1 week ago

I already voted for Kamala Harris, but only because Hunter Biden wasn't on the ballot.

I might write in Arnold Palmer now!

Man, people are voting for a glass of lemonade down there? Are things really that bad?

edit: /s

Are you being /s or unaware of Trump’s rants about AP’s penis the other day?

[-] undercrust@lemmy.ca 3 points 1 week ago

Sarcastic, yeah, dropped my /s LOL

I love the double standard. Trump can say "arrest all the radical left" and "LOCK HER UP" but if a democrat grows a backbone and says it back it's "THEY'RE BEING MEAN!!! YOU CAN'T SAY THAT!"

What controversy? Finally saying something normal. Donald did an insurrection.

[-] stoy@lemmy.zip 3 points 1 week ago* (last edited 1 week ago)

It is controversial for two reasons:

  1. As far as I can tell, it goes against normal Democrat rhetoric.
  2. He directed the statement against the loudmouth snowflakes.

There is a point to 1, but when you consider how political discourse has changed in the last decade or so, the change of tone should be expected.

As for 2, don't dish it out if you can't take it.

But I thought they loved locking up criminals

[-] sunbrrnslapper@lemmy.world 24 points 1 week ago

To be fair, he was convicted of many felonies. It would be irresponsible not to.

[-] Randomgal@lemmy.ca 10 points 1 week ago

I hope the controversy is he didn't say it earlier.

The president quickly moderated his remark to suggest figurative rather than literal incarceration

Still no stones as a lame duck.
